I tend to ski most of my year either at Cannon or Sunday River. Late in the season of last year we had one of those southern storms. Me and the family decided that we should try and ski somewhere south. Where to go... We didn't go to Sunapee, well because it's Sunapee. We didn't go to Ragged because we have been there before. So we tried Gunstock.
On first impression we found the base lodge very homely... the wagon wheel lights, the fire place, big beams... There was virtually no lines... Got to the top and... The run outs were terrible. I mean horrible. You could get stuck in the powder again and again. Perhaps our experience would have been different if the snow had been groomed.
On a good note we LOVED red hat.
