Hey All,

It's only a little more than 2 weeks until Thanksgiving. Does anybody have any fun Thanksgiving weekend plans? The night before Thanksgiving is the biggest party night of the year. One of my sisters friends is having a party and then there will be lots of bar hopping until 2AM. Lots of relatives will be in town for Thanksgiving. I'm thinking of taking the Monday after Thanksgiving off and going up to Vermont from Black Friday November 28th to December 1st and skiing Saturday, Sunday and Monday..by then there should be a good amount of terrain open and maybe I can do a day at Okemo, Killington and Sugarbush. I like Stowe the best but unless there is significant natural snowfall..I'd rather wait until later in the season to hit Stowe. Who's planning on skiing Thanksgiving weekend??? Wow the long range forecast looks great for snowmaking..

Well its an annual event we've been doing for YEARS

The Queen and I host our kids and grandkids and my bro in law for 4 days . SO we have about 11 people a dog and a cat in the house ,.We have this same crowd for 10 days at Christmas and again in the summer for 10days . Good thing the house is big enough .

- We ALL go skiing the day after Turkey day if Titus Mtn is open and it usually is . This year there is also a ski swap on that weekend at the mtn . The guys also go again on saturday , the ladies SHOP

Then we repeat this during Christmas except we may go 3 times weather and sposal support permitting :D

I would still love to see the mighty Sundown open on Black Friday. I would try to hit it at night if that was the case. Hunter is likely for that Sunday.

Thanksgiving Day work at the old hotel job, Friday work, weekend either relaxing or skiing somewhere if the terrain options warrant the ticket price and drive to get there. Hoping that maybe Wildcat will be open on that Sunday. The 29th is supposed to be opening day...we'll see.

Ski Friday Sat and may hit loon on the way home Sunday. Ski and eat has become our family holiday. Finally old enough to host a holiday instead of always having to go elsewhere. 8th year of our tradaition,. Last year a few of us skied together and came back for cocktails on Turkey day. Pretty fun day. Same thing planned this year.

My wife and I would like to make some turns on Black Friday. How are the crowds at the mountains? When I was younger, I used to go up to K-Mart on Black Friday with a buddy and his dad. This was way back in the late 80's-early 90's though.

I think the big question becomes who's got the best snow making and who's going to use it. What I mean by that is that the forecasts that I have seen are now calling for a big push of good cold air for possibly the next two weeks (up to Thanksgiving). How much can some of these places get open in that time? My original thought was to go for Thanksgiving weekend to Bolton Valley due to its elevation, but according to their web site they are not planning to open till Dec 6 so thats out. I'm now thinking Bromley, Stratton, Gore or Whiteface depending on how much they might be able to open. A good enough push of cold air and my home mountain Camelback should be able to open on their projected date of Dec 5. Any thoughts from regulars to the mountains listed above as to what to expect?
