No it wouldn't.

It would take 5 minutes to bring it back. Just put out the word that people can do whatever they want, ala 2006 and earlier. The party would return in a heartbeat.

i agree. word would spread fast and the 30th bmmc would be huge

I like it. Seriously.

Let's see you back that up, but the words hint at a promising attitude.

A positive nod from the Tinman? :-o We are definitely witnessing a Killington renaissance...

Come on, Greg! When I smell bullshit, I call it out. Nothing more, nothing less. There's been a lot of that emanating from K the last several years, hence the tone of my posts. I try to be fair - I'm as big a Sugarbush homer as there is, but I call Win to the carpet all the time for things like early/late season at LP, lack of snowmaking firepower and the decision to keep the childrens' daycare and kids ski school programs in separate buildings far apart.

If Tom means what he says - that K will prove in its deeds that it is the Beast of the East - then everyone here knows what that implies on the ground. Mister Moose laid it out pretty clearly. If it turns out that he is full of it, and they close once again with great coverage while neutering the BMMC, etc..., then I'll be sure to take note of that.

While I have no idea what's going on, something seems to have definitely changed at Powdr this year:

-Las Vegas Ski and Snowboard 2nd in the nation to open? (Powdr resort).

Killington changes:
-"Beast of the East" is back.
- SpinmasterK has been "Tipping his hat" all summer, and hinting at doing things differently.
-Seeded moguls/moguls going to become more of a focus at Killington.
-At least some snowmaking improvements.

@SpinmasterK - Finally! is really about all I have to say. Guess you'll see if it works now. :spread: Of course, living up to your word, as others have said, is necessary....although I kind of doubt you'd be acting as enthusiastic as you have been if there's no changes in behavior. Also, I personally prefer the old logo.

I hear ya. Like I said, Tom threw the gauntlet and as history has shown they are going to get heavily scrutinized for it, as they should, I suppose. If anything, it's going to be an interesting season, and in a sense, Killington has already won round one - we're all paying attention.

When

When i see snow piled up on Super Star above the towers for spring skiing and riding then the beast has returned. See you in May and June for some turns if the beast is back. If they are opened Halloween weekend it will be a start. The rest of the season is what it is.

In my mind, I agree, those are deciding factors for deciding if the 'Beast' is back. Everything else doesn't really matter,

Exactly.

One thing Tom should take note of is that any thread about K sparks a TON of interest here and elsewhere. That speaks to a latent passion for the place, for better or for worse, that they really should be exploiting. If they are finally getting a clue and moving in that direction, kudos to them. Let's see if they can walk the walk.

"The Beast of the East is not about what you say. It's about what you do."

Correct. And we will be judged on what we do. Not what I say in an online forum.

Yes, but there will be fewer and fewer judges if people keep jumping the gun with false information.
