New marketing slogan based on old reputation, new logo....no new reasons to ski at Killington

Still too early to paint with a broad brush. The bottom line is they got my attention.

And I'll visit Killington regardless. It really is the first "big" mountain that's day trippable for me. Great terrain, good natural snow potential, etc. My favorite? No, but I still always enjoy myself there.

Pretty much the exact reason I got a pass there this year.

More choices for early season skiing is a good thing. I hope mother nature is on board with the plan.

Now if you could do something about those lift ticket prices. I guess the pass holders don't care, but the prices are pretty brutal for day trippers with kids.

I for one hope that this will mark a sweeping change in philosophy as to how S&P and Powdr decide to operate K. A strong K with a big attitude about wanting to be the first, the longest, the steepest, the most, etc IMHO is a GREAT thing for ALL of New England Skiing as it not only attracts atttention to skiing riding early (and hopefully late) season to get more people thinking about going to the hill (and not just K), but it also in a sense raises the bar a bit amongst their competitors to keep improving to try and draw attention away from them, and that also benefits many a New England skier/rider. After all, Pres Smith and to some extent Les Otten & ASC spent 40 odd years building up a huge, marketable iconic brand, it just didn't make sense to try and almost deny the past and in a sense reinvent the wheel from a marketing standpoint as it appeared that Powdr/S&P were trying to do the last couple of years.

Yes, first year for it. SP holders receive 15 percent off at all base lodges on food, beverages - except alcohol (darn VT liquor laws!)

I want nothing more then the “old K’ back, lets see!
I would love to see an early opening but we all saw what happened last year, so I guess I would be happy with bringing back the king of spring. Although turns in Oct. are great, they are only great because we haven’t had them in so long, actually they kind of suck (don’t get me wrong, I was there opening day last year) Now, come spring with the long warm days, soft bumps, and bbqs burning at the base of SS, that’s beast like! And PLEASE stop grooming! I don’t speak up much but this new attitude has got me real excited, may even buy a season pass again.

Certainly no Killington expert here. Don't think I ever claimed to be. It's just funny that someone who hasn't even skied prior to 2003 or whenever it was is longing for Killington's yesteryear so much. I mean didn't you have a Killington tomb stone as your avatar for a while? :lol: I just find it all to be a bit humorous, that's all...

I don't think you have to go back that far to see a difference. It may not be "soul" I noticed but the vibe was certainly different back 3-4 years ago than it was last year.
