The problem is that the same people who bitch about the cold are also now bitching about the heat. Just can't keep some people happy it seems...

I must be disconnected; I just don't see that. I will whine about the heat and the lack of snow or rain in the winter. I never really complain about the weather in fall/spring, I just find myself longing for snow.

Maybe you're talking about people who just whine about everything.

I think I get (and agree) with what Brownsville is saying here. The "Summer" we've had so far has been oppressively hot. It has not been the "good" summer that some of us look forward to. Today on the other hand (on the Island at least) has been a perfect Summer day that exemplifies the "spirit" of Summer that many of us are fond of.

I can't stand heat and humitidy, but I will take this summer over last. It seemed like it rained for two months straight last summer.

Either way, summers in New England are like winters. You get a great one about once every five years or so, a few that are just okay and the occasional bad one like last year.

Don't remember the great summers like the great winters, but I probably would if I was into a summer activity like I am skiing

I understand where BB's coming from (for once). I hit the beach last weekend but the breeze was coming off the land, very unusual and uncomfortable. Softball's been brutal. My wife and I haven't been able to sit out on our beloved patio though much of it's shaded, even with a misting fan. It's felt like a rain forest.
Until this morning. We actually had a moment to sip our caffeine before scooting off. I hope we get a few more, but the forecast doesn't look like it.

I can actually agree with BB. Summer has been nothing but brutally hot or wet. Today was the first time in weeks I was able to turn off the AC and open the windows to let some fresh air in. I even was leaving it on at night (while at work) for the dog.

Short wave, already rolled through as the next warm front is on top of us already. Get ready for an oppressive Saturday. I will be on or in the water for sure. Next week looks a little cooler.
