...is that there will be some really, really good ski deals from shops and ski areas after the holidays. I just hope that the ski areas and shops can survive.

Agreed. Last week, VPR ran a show on what to do for fun in the winter. One of the guests was like, "well, without the snow, now is a good time to get some hiking in." :roll: Hiking season is OVER. Ski season is NOW!!!!!! :uzi: :smash:

While I agree hiking season SHOULD be over I had a great little hike yesterday at hickory run state park in the poconos. Really nice clean air, mild temps, hiking in shorts - really enjoyable. Hiked out to a vista overlooking lehigh gorge and then down to hawk falls- it was sweet.
Also- On the way out we stopped at Jack Frost - Big Boulder to check out how they were doing. Not so good was the answer.

The other good side is ski resorts may finally start to see that warm weather may be here in some years. Like in that whistler article maybe resorts are finally going to make that first step into making there resorts better even with lack of snow.
