Once its finally up and running it will undoubtablely only run on weekends, right? With Ellen closing on Mar 30 there is not a lot time there...
My (perhaps hazy) recollection from recent years is that once it’s finally up and running it also runs midweek if the weather allows. From the 10,000ft view it’s certainly funny to see it closed for many key midwinter weekends and then open on a random Tuesday in mid March.

I know everyone loves to hate on Slidey B, and sure it should never have been built, but it’s there and really opens up the experience when it’s running. There’s just no way the shuttle compares in my book. Give me the option where I can move between mountains without removing my skis any day. And yeah that includes one way ski tours with the lazy return option via lift.

Slide Brook is a truly unique experience and makes Sugarbush a single ski area.

Love this storm...hopefully the mixed junk will stay south. Wind will spoil the party a little; NRX and Summit the first victim.
Wish SBX were running...better than riding in a bus on sketchy road

VH broken but back up

I dunno... Slidebrook is one of the last lifts I'd want to be sitting on with declining weather conditions. The more I think about it, the only time I want to ride that chair is when there's no wind and temps are mild. Evac would take friggin forever and the chair is reeally high above ground in a few spots
I’ve been on it right before it was shut down for wind one time. Scary fucking ride…

On another note…I’m exhausted!

We lucked out for the most part with the wind so far today. It was howling pretty good at the top of the rock this morning. Tomorrow has me more worried about holds though…combine that with the blackout being over I believe and tomorrow could be crazy.

Great skiing. Very windy/white out at the top of HG kept most people on the lower mountain until almost 11. And then they showed en masse. I bailed the upper mountain when the conga line formed on the Long Trail. Found some other less crowed woods elsewhere and skied there for a bit. Got hungry and didnt want to deal with the crowd so skied South Beach home. Crazy crowded in there - families, groups of roving teens, etc. Still plenty of untracked, but not going to hold up as long as it used to.

damn that's crazy, and sucks for the locals. yall should cut some new lines, off of that hump between castlerock and north lynx. would be super hidden (maybe there are haha). most lines at bush aren't, just a little bit of curiosity gets u everything pretty much. mrg requires some stupidity.

Cd what did you ski? What was it like.

We need to get back to stoke and reports. I'm back in a few days.
Left my laptop power cord at home accidentally so stuck posting from my phone and can’t get my photos from my camera.

I’m not as adventurous as some others, but I enjoyed domino, middle earth, twist, sunrise and Eden today. I was actually pretty surprised how much untracked there still was in Eden around 11ish when I went in there.

Snow was good. A bit denser, but we could probably use some of that type of snow. There was a bit of wintry mix starting around 12, but it switched back to snow later on and I don’t think it will have much impact on conditions other than slightly limiting totals. Still over a foot and counting so far…

Sounds like a great day.

I'm curious if the wet snow coupled with the quick temperature drop will make things a skating rink tomorrow. We've been so blessed with consistent good temps. Fingers crossed.

I was at Gore yesterday with a friend and it was outstanding. We skipped today and headed back to NJ cuz of the mixed precip and now I'm wondering if we made a mistake.

I doubt it. The snow was a little denser than what we’ve had a lot this year, but I wouldn’t call it wet at all. Temps were well below freezing all day.

Thanks for the intel. Thinking I'm going to take a vacay day Friday and hit MRG then Bush Saturday and Sunday next weekend. Was at Gore today and though awesome for the morning we got major icing from noon on to the point they closed everything by 1:30 and it was very crusty. Time to head back to VT.
