I’m on Stoke chair now. It’s been amazing. It’s snowed at least 2” every night and there have been two six inch+ dumps. They got like 50 cm while I’ve been here, about 20 inches. Enough to make the skiing extremely fun but never super duper deep. Rain at the base and in town all week, so super comfortable temps up top and stoke and ripper had good snow all week. One day where stoke snow was too heavy but ripper was fine.

I got lucky. When I saw the long period of cold and dry I canceled rhe first few days of this trip when I was meant to be in banff and I skied in Maine instead, which was fantastic.

I go to lake Louise tomorrow and ski there and/or Sunshine thru Thursday, and fly home early Friday.

Amazing February trip this year. 4 days in Maine, 6 so far in BC, 2 to go in Alberta. 12 ski days in 13 days, and 6 so far I’d call powder days. Good stuff.

awesome. We got the big dump while in the backcountry which is never a bad thing. IMHO revy has great terrain, fun trees and steep long groomers. The base situation is a little funky but that's ok. Also, think flying through calgary is the way to go. We went through Kelowna which is closest to revy but an ordeal to fly through.

Oh yea, I don’t mind a long-ish drive and the major airports have the most flexibility, direct flights, car options, etc. I try to avoid secondary airports whenever I can. I almost drove to kelowna today to check out big white on Indy - they got a bit more snow down south the past 48 hours. But I decided to stay put. The skiing here is fine/good. It’s snowing lightly. My hotel has the sweet hot breakfast I’d miss if I day tripped, and I need to head back towards banff and Calgary tomorrow.

I want to come back and do a trip that is centered on Red with side jaunts to Nelson/whitewater and big white or apex. Next year

The Canadian dollar is unbeatable. These towns have decent hotels at the $100 a night price point. Fuck if you wanna stay a little outside banff in Canmore it’s like $70 usd. Last night I had a beer and a steak and salad and after the conversion it was $35. Amazingly affordable way to do a long trip

If you have your any gear with you, I prefer Sunshine to LL. Some great terrain thru the gates there. LL does not suck tho and has some of the most beatiful views at any ski area if it is clear. Spend a few extra bucks and stay up at the lodge as Sunshine. Huge outdoor hot tub with wade up bar side service. Pretty good to stay up there and first tracks out of the lodge while people are taking the gondola up from the parking lot.

I have my gear with me only for the dive actually. But I prefer Louise. Sunshine skis short and pody imo. Like Sunday river or killington. Lots of disconnected short pods.

Got a decent hotel right in banff town for tomorrow night. Then an airport hotel Thursday night.

Indivisible Mad River Valley will protest the policies of the Trump/Vance administration during Vice President Vance’s visit to The Valley with a peaceful protest rally on Saturday, March 1, from 9 to 10 a.m. in Waitsfield on the sidewalk in front of the Waitsfield Farmers Market Green on Rout 100.

Signs will be available – and people can bring their own

I'm a huge fan Nelson/whitewater. It's the best. Red is good too but Nelson is special and whitewater gets way more snow than Red. Fly through spokane. the rest of my crew went to Silver star and really liked it. Kelowna is booming but not my scene. Everything there built in the last 20 years.

And what do you want to bet if they drive from BTV, they turn off on Tremblay and go East Warren route?
