Oh, my bad.. a "cOnStItUiOnAl RePuBlIc"

I don't think it is going to be a big deal. I bet they pick a lift like North Linx or Inverness and they will ski there for a couple of hours mid day. He is not landing in the Waitsfeild Common until 9 am on Saturday. I think the bigger shit show will be in Warren because the access road at Sugarbush and the mountain areas are private property so protests would be illeagal and can be removed unlike Warren center.
Inverness tied up with over 200 GMVS Club and academy kids on Saturday, then 200+ FIS racers and coaches on Sunday, so my guess is that is out. NL makes sense, though don't know the kids' ability so maybe the beginner lift.

Thanks

I heard this morning that he is no longer staying at Pitcher Inn. Don't know the veracity of that update, but the person I heard it from has close State and press contacts.
Always wondered how something like this works. If not at the Pitcher Inn, then whatever other hotel. A large block of last-minute rooms on a weekend during the heart of the ski season is pretty much impossible to come by. Does the innkeeper cancel other people’s reservations that they booked months ago ?

I think it’s right on brand for him to come to a blue state. One of the reasons they won, (not the only one) is the fact they were willing to campaign in blue states and red states. Plus they were willing to give interviews to hostile journalists as well as friendly ones. You can’t say that for the word salad candidate. She wouldn’t even go on the Joe Rogan show, big mistake. Anyway, I think it’s cool that he is coming to visit. All will be fine in the end……

I hope you're right. In the end I just care about being able to ski this weekend :)

I hate all the political non-sense and people threatening to protest. I don't care whether someone likes/agrees with the guy or not...just don't fuck up skiing for the rest of us on the mountain.

Just in. SB is giving him NRX for his exclusive use all day. If it operates. ;) :ROFLMAO:

CD, poitical non-sense? I understand your frustration but please don't forget that the right to freedom of speech and the right to protest is the foundation of our democracy. The very reason this country has moved in a different direction is because one group got their message out louder and clearer and it resonated with greater than 50% of the population.

So much so that people are now looking at constitutional law and saying it's OK that the new group can bend and break rules that were established over 250 years of presidence. No I think protest is even more important in our country today. Most people on the left and middle have lost thier fight and the conservatives have just started. From my moderate view we have taken a step back 60 years and it will take 60 more to get back to a moderate position again.

Nope it makes total sense indeed.

Sorry, I have zero respect/tolerance for any protestors that impact other regular people just trying to live their lives. Just like I can't stand protestors that stand in the middle of the road thinking it is ok to block people from going to work to try to get their point across. You want to protest quietly on the side of the road where it doesn't impact anyone, fine. No issues with that. But with some of the comments I'm seeing on social media and reddit, there are a lot of people that want to be much more "disruptive" with their protests. That's the non-sense I can't stand and what I was referring to.

It was leaked trailboss. His people came to the Picture in to make the reservation and let them know what was going to happen. George Dorsey who ownes the picture inn and the Warren Store is a Republican that lives in Florida. I bet that is where the connection is from. Someone working there leaked the info I was told and it makes sense.
Leeks are always part of these plans.
Best place for him to stay is Twin Farms but a bit a drive, they have had many of the highest profile families stay there.

You’re free to express whatever you want, nobody is going to stop you. I would suggest you ski instead. Should be a great weekend for it. Or make a sign and protest instead. I may laugh and snicker though. Imagine holding a sign on a powder day.

We are veering into stuff that I try to avoid on AZ.

I'm not super into protesters (interesting side note, I just learned the word protester can be spelled protestor as well) who are standing in the middle of the road and inconveniencing people. It's most likely illegal and if so, should be prosecuted. Police and local prosecutors typically can't be bothered because they have bigger fish to fry. Perfect examples of this can be seen on college campuses where students (and others) recently defaced school property. This is clearly illegal, but was allowed to go on for a long time for a number of reasons, one of which, on a scale of 1-10 where in NYC there are murders happening and there are students protesting and defacing buildings at Columbia, the murders take precedence.

On the other hand, part of living in a democracy dictates that I don't get to tell others how and when they can protest as long as it's being done legally. Anyone remember how worked up people got over Colin Kaepernick? There was such an outcry of "how dare he kneel during the national anthem" and the political right used the issue to very effectively decry democrats as not caring about the military or the police and being anti-American. In reality, CK's protest was about as American as it can get and the folks that criticized him and told him it wasn't the right way, time or place to protest were about as un-American as it can get.

We live in interesting (and scary) times.
