OK Last I will say on this situation and then I am out.

The issue with most people is that they form an opinion about the Ukraine conflict without fully understanding the history of that region. Russia's continuous expantion after the collaple of the Berlin wall and subsequant independence of many old Russian territories is both continuous and unrelenting.
- Look at the history of Crimea and the Russian takeover in 2014.
- Starting in 1989 the Russia Army caved out the Transnistria area in Moldova and baically anexed that.
- In 2008 the Russia invaded Georgia and took over South Ossetia and Abkhazia to expand their territory on the Black Sea.
- The current confilct now makes it more likely that Ukraine will have to give up a huge chunk of the Donbas region giving them more Black Sea Ports. Maybe more if aid ceases to be given. Maybe it will be all the way to Odesa and Kyiv as Putin has said continuously. Where does it stop?
- Just recently the Baltic States of Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania have moved to removed themselves from the Russian Power grid and connect to the EU. Many think this will be the start of the next phase of Russian tensions. If any of these three start talking NATO it would be the end of Baltic–Soviet relations and Maybe war.

Please understand fully the history before thinking that Putin is going to stop. How anyone cannot understand that Vladimir Putin can't trusted is beyond me. He has proven again and again that he will not rest until he has regained a greater portion of what they lost 35 years ago. The current administration's disregard of this threat is both foolish and dangerous.

One Inch......Yes I understand.
Then there’s the Maidan, Vickie Nuland, blablabla, lots more to it. Which is kinda why we should mind our own business, but we didn’t. We kinda instigated all this in 2014. Complicated history, goes back a long time. You don’t even know who is in NATO. Cause it’s complicated. I’d prefer we stay the fuck out and fix our own shit. But if y’all want war, go ahead and just say it. It’s binary, either a peace deal or not. And not is war. Pretty much that simple. And the Sugarbush angle to this, to bring it back to the Bush is, JD was on the side of ending the war. Not continuing to fund the killing but ending the killing. No more war. I mean we can agree on that as a fact, JD wants no more war. Yet hundreds protested agains that. Found that really strange. Why can’t we give peace a chance?

So Trumps deal.....You have to give up Everything the russians occupy now, give back what you occupy of thier territory, give us excusive rights to your minerals and oh by the way Mr Zelenski you have to leave office. ALSO, we cannot promice you that we will help if Russia desides to go back on thier word. Go talk to Europe.

Great deal. I don't understand why he had an issue with that.
You give the Russians way to much respect.

you mean when Trump was trying to help Ukraine with a peace deal and save their country? You do realize it’s Trump trying to create peace right? Trump. Nobody else. Trump is. Everyone else wants to give Ukraine more money and weapons for the slaughter. Trump wants it to stop. You do realize this right? Because you do realize the alternative is more war right? Do you understand this?
Because the people protesting in Waitsfield didn’t seem to understand this.
Sorry - if Zelensky wanted the "peace deal" that Trump is offering he could go right to Moscow and cut out the middle man. Nothing Trump has done or has offered to do in anyway helps Ukraine.

the capitulation to vladimir putin being advocated by much of the 'republican party' is truly bonkers stuff.

what a simplistic view. its so much more nuanced than the binary you present. and painting the other side as war mongers is super disingenuous.

Was that really Vance in that Reddit video? Looked on the thin side but...

So Sugarbush would not sell Mt. Ellen only ticket to one of my guests yesterday instead trying to force a full priced all mountain. They were pretty offended as they have come up here every year the past six and have bought day of in the past. As a result, he decided to check out Bolton (yawn) instead. Surprisingly thin crowd there, but grooming was good for mostly sleepy turns in bluebird with light wind.

ME-only tickets are only sold M-F. That's been the case all year. Pretty odd decision if you ask me, but also not a secret as it has been posted on the lift ticket page of the website all year.

Wrong JD is willing to capitulate to dictator who has violated every previous attempt at ceasefire or other peacemaking attempts. Only a fool would believe Putin is capable of anything but deception

Cheetah clearly has no spine to stand with. Is it so hard for you to admit that the Ukrainian people wanted democracy and were/are willing to fight for it?

Our forefathers are turning in their graves. Read a history book

Thread is being locked. Maybe over the course of the next few days I'll find the time to get rid of the now hundred plus posts on both sides of the aisle that aren't convincing anyone to think or believe differently. When that's done, I'll unlock it and people can hopefully stick to talking about skiing Sugarbush and other non political discussion concerning the MRV. I'll get to cleaning this up, but it's a low priority for me.

We do let some politics slide on AZ, but this is ridiculous.
