"All Sugarbush Reserve guests will also receive a $100 food credit & complimentary hot chocolate, coffee, pop, pastries and snacks (offerings will be appropriate to the time of day). Plus, share the love with friends and use your two (2) Friends & Family Discounted Day Passes for $99."

Pop? In New England? Bwahahaha!

Great, I get to go chill or après with the other 274 not-my-friends who coughed up $2k for this. Except twice, if I pay another $10%.

Hard pass.

Maybe it wasn't written by someone from Sugarbush.
That is what I am wondering. It’s also odd that Stratton has a similar program for a lot less money. If I had to guess, and based on your research, I’d say that this is an “idea” from Alterra HQ to generate more revenue. And if I had to guess they gave each resort some sort of target number to hit ($550,000 or so?)

What are the prices for Stratton's program? I didn't see a program like this publicly posted for Stratton, so I couldn't see what their prices are. The only one I see for Stratton is a First Tracks add-on which is like the prior Early Ups option at Sugarbush (and price was somewhat comparable to what I remember when SB had Early Ups). From all the ones publicly posted (for a similar "reserve" program), Sugarbush's program seems to be the most expensive meanwhile offers the least. Very strange...

Yeah once you get west of the capital district in NY most people say pop

This was a highly contentious topic in college! Being in Rochester, we determined that was roughly the borderline. Most "locals" in the Rochester area at my school still called it soda. Another one of my roommates was from Syracuse and he was firmly in the soda camp as well.

Are they taking away part of Wunderbar for this? Or using the blazers room at VH? Or some other room in the building?

Either way, I can’t help but think that they would make more money if they simply opened up another dining/drinking option in VH lodge, rather than offering a marginal-at-best benefit to skip the line at Super Bravo for an exorbitant price.

It almost seems as if they intentionally designed it to be the least valuable and most expensive of any other mountain in order to ensure nobody would bother using it.

But then again, this is the same management that installed private “cabins” at the base during COVID and tried to charge $500/day to use them. Now those cabins are being used by ski patrol instead…

That's the pricing on their first tracks program...essentially the old Sugarbush Early-Ups program. Completely different from this new "reserve" program that just gives a VIP lane during normal hours.
Ohhhhh I did not see the line cutting privileges. This will go over as well as it did at Killington and other POWDR Resorts.

It’s still a way to make more money. I’ll stand by with the thought that this was an edict from Alterra.

Yea...line cutting privileges (only at Bravo) is pretty much the entire point (other than the private apres lounge which just comes across as douchey and pointless lol). This program doesn't give any early access to the lifts before they open from what I'm reading. I guess you'll get to be the first one(s) up Bravo when it opens at the normal time if you're in that VIP line.

The whole thing is just very poor taste.

You can also buy a single day-pass of this "reserve" access for $199 for a single day! (again as an add-on as you still need to have a pass or lift ticket as well).

Agreed that this was an Alterra idea and it is highly unlikely that someone locally was the one that wanted to do this...
