Sugarbush posted on Social Media to stay tuned for an update on opening day later today...

Looking at the Gate House cam, I have a suspicion they're going to delay it until they can make more snow at lower elevations... (I'd love to be wrong though and there be enough snow out of view of the cams to work with and use to open)

See - nothing to worry about! They’re pros. 😁

Hah...I wish there was a better cam angle that showed more of GH. Happy to be wrong. After Stratton delayed their opening, I really was thinking SB would push back as well. Still can't say I find the prospect of Pushover being your opening terrain exciting too many people compared to what other places are able to offer on opening day...

What? What's a NH man doing in the Valley? New Job?
Too many fights. kinfes and crazy people in Concord. Plus, this is were I'm from. Looking to work as an accountant looks like a sub teacher or the like.

Skiing.... weed moosies, moo cows.

edit: I miss my bats. Lots of hawks, yet no Eagles and the beat goes on...

There are tons of compaines in Barre, Waterbury and Montpellier who might need an experienced accountant. My friend who was an accountant commuted from the valley to Montpelier for 10 years before he retiered.

Have not missed opening day here since 2001 so plan to be early and get a few runs in. Even if it’s only Pushover and Slowepoke it’s good to be out. After tomorrow it looks like a better stretch for snowmaking up high at least. Hope to see everyone soon.

Surely you know that early season skiers tend to be those beginner/low intermediate types who'd find the GH pod to be the perfect opener for the year. SB team has their finger on the pulse!

12:30pm Saturday glad to see guns up high on Organgrinder and presumably Jester. Bit cloudy so tough to tell. Conditions show 22 degrees and this next 24 hour window will be best up high. It will be interesting to see what they can do this week to add terrain. I think they’ll need some luck. Certainly will need it if downloading not an option.

They have plenty of time to make snow and get terrain open before I'll most likely make it up there. At this point it is looking like I might not make it up until after Christmas... :(

This becomes a problem for me after thanksgiving. Like the day after thanksgiving. Lose focus at work checking the snow forecasts, webcams etc.

It takes a while to expand especially from the summit. OG, jester and DS is a long run. If temps down low then they will go to VH side.
