For sure. TBH it would be rather nice to just ski OG down Deathspout to HG as one continuous trail without the hordes feeding into it from Jester and Super Bravo. Doubt it will work out that way but who knows.
There was a few day stretch last year when GMX was down due to maintenance and North Ridge laps were 10x more fun. Totally different ski experience.
With the new Heaven’s Gate trail there are now different options. Open VH lift and take HG Traverse to HG. Jester to Valley House Traverse and download on VH. Or if temps allow add Murphy’s, Lower Organgrinder (or Lower Jester) and Coffee Run to bottom. This is a much less acreage to cover than Downspout or Snowball and Spring Fling. I have not spoken to anyone about the actual plan, so just conjecture, but the new HG Traverse does allow for different options. By the way, snow was being made on Upper portion of Grinder where temps permitted. It should have been a good production last night given the lower teen temps.

I imagine taking a seat on the VH Quad and going for a ride off that download ramp would be quite the eye opener. Similar for those of us who remember loading the Killington Peak Double at the summit.

It is interesting that the Murphy's snow making ended at the new traverse. Could be temps related, or....

Murphys is fine if you go down Jester but if you go down upper Organgrinder you will still need Downspout.

It will be interesting to see. We assume snowmaking on OG is to get it open asap. But maybe under new plan they were making snow there only because that’s the only place they could given temps. So once temps are good at all elevations we’ll see where they focus. Perhaps today is an indication? Not making snow on OG or DS. Jester for sure, and looks like down VH traverse. Can't tell from cams what is happening on Murphy’s or HG traverse - though there are guns at HG base terminal. Maybe someone who can glance up will let us know.

Maybe they will do Upper Organgrinder, blow that small piece accross the flat to lower organgrinder and to the bottom? Just a thought to avoid Downspout.
Yup. My guess is that is not an option would be comfortable with. SB just posed drone footage of heavy snowmaking on Murphys. I'll give the new regime some credit for trying different rollout options. The improvements implemented over the years has allowed them to do this.

This is less than ideal for those of us on snowboards because it would require some skating. However, more open terrain is better than less, which is ultimately more important.

Isn’t it uphill from Allyn’s to the SB quad? Nor really a readable opening route.
