I will add that GMX ran pretty well last season (they put a lot of work into last summer). But that still doesn't negate the need to ensure NRX runs well one way or another. (which was one of Mach's arguments about why NRX doesn't need to be a priority). The mountain skis very differently and the experience is very different without NRX. That's the bottom line. Again, I hope whatever they did this summer works out. If it doesn't, I know there will be a good number of unhappy people (especially once they find out it isn't being replaced next year). I know the two of us don't always see eye to eye, but I think on this one we're both in agreement for a change :)
I never said maintenance and bring ng it up to reliable shouldn't be a priority. I too very much enjoy that lift and since I start at South most of my SB days (and most of those are when SB is open), it is most of my lift rides at Ellen. But when Alterra is looking over their entire portfolio to drop $$ on replacement lifts, I'm sorry but NRX is going to be far down their list overall. The fact its even in the air to get replaced is high praise for SB management!!

Wow, ok then some history. NRX was the GMC in that same alignment prior to LBO coming in. When he put Slidebrook in, he took out GMX and reinstalled it as NRX which was fine and great coming from South off Slidebrook. But if starting at North, to summit North, you now had to take 3 lifts to do so (Inverness or a short FGQ out of base, NRX then Summit). After LBO was out, a new HSQ was installed in the old GMX line (I assume that was Win??). So that GMC is actually the newest HSQ on the entire hill.

The idea of replacing Bravo and having Dopp do a full refurb isn't completely nuts. Remember, Dopp basically makes those returns like all new machines. All wear parts are completely overhauled or replaced, electronics are upgraded to the latest gear, etc. A resort can get what is basically a new machine at half the cost or better as all the steel is reused. I think if Bravo is in the timeline for upgrade, that could be something they should explore with the delay now on NRX replacement.
the number of three letter acronyms in this made me dizzy lol

A friend hiked the Slide Brook Rd today and noted at least one building being built and several more to come. Any idea what will happen to the ski out once they start plowing and sanding the road?

I have wondered this for years now. I’m hopeful that they can run an occasional groomer somehow alongside the road. Or put a bus turnaround up at the last house lot and have that be the new pick up spot!

No way the bus would ever go up that road

Hopefully it's not another Brighton situation with skiers crossing over someone's land

This was discuss during the Presidents meeting with John Hammond. I also spoke with Jeanie and Paul who live up there. When that first new lot was was developed the builder sanded the road for the contractors. This was not popular. There were conversations with the new owner and the thought was to plow the road to the skiers left and leave the margin on the right for the skiers. The mountain is discussing maybe doing something but nothing is worked out. It's a wait and see. I kind of hope they do plow it. ;-) it will cut down on the numbers in there once people get a taste of walking.

isn't there like a rise on the right said that we could traverse on? like the main path, then a little ditch, then it goes up. maybe Im misremembering.
That is only near the end. The section from the bridge is fine. Then the section that has the huge culverts where the houses are going in are where it get's tricky.

They have a long way to go Jimmy. Don't count your chickens until they are hatched.
Remember, Thanksgiving is the projected opening date.
