And Inverness is now loading...Nothing on snow report yet
NRX spinning, sort of; we'll see if loads
*not yet...turning the curious away. Back for another cruise on Expressway/Mainstream/SShot...
Looks like snowmaking on Birches.
That's what I thought I remembered being the norm in the past...It would normally be Birch and Sunrise together. Run two snowmaking crews up the lift and each take a trail.
Agree on the ramp, John has to see this. I was loaded with 2 snowboarders on Thursday, not a knock against them, it was riskiest thing I did all day.Hiked to CR today. Well worth it. Especially since I was behind 6 guys on the way over, but leapfrogged them when they stopped at the top of the lift. Had CR/Cotillion/Lower LL to myself. Found piles of snow everywhere and even fresh on Cotillion. Big fun.
As for HG:
-slowwww...are they not running it at full speed or is this it?
-loading ramp: 2 chairs behind me both had issues and stopped the lift. Learning curve I guess?
-unload ramp: too steep and narrow. There will be wrecks, often.
Super smooth and ran in a stiff wind, but still buggy.
Beautiful day to ski today.
Snowboarders exit sideways and have to get their board straightened out very quickly. This is not easy to do in a crowded space. On skis it’s a straight forward exit. I have not ridden the new chair but I’m not hearing my boarding friends liking the dismount. These buds are not beginners….I don’t know. I rode it opening day and had no issues with the ramp. It didn’t even occur to me that it was any kind of an issue. If people just paid attention for once we wouldn’t be talking about it
Also should put snow over the stairs...too narrow.Agree on the ramp, John has to see this. I was loaded with 2 snowboarders on Thursday, not a knock against them, it was riskiest thing I did all day.
Assuming they can’t just build up the snow because with speed, distance and decreased ramp angle hitting head on the chair may be an issue, if this is not the case it should have been fixed already.
I will add that getting off a chair is the most difficult thing to learn when start snowboarding. You only have one foot attached and it’s a bit of a twisting and balance proposition. I’m not looking forward to my first HG lift ride and if it’s a bitch to get off this chair, the bush may see a decrease in the amount of snowboarders they attract. People may prefer other Ikon mountains with better chairs. Which is pretty much everywhere else!Snowboarders exit sideways and have to get their board straightened out very quickly. Shred I was on the chair with two boarders with no issues. I believe people are overreacting.
