Had a great day today at LP. Castlerock hike x2 for Middle Earth was well worth it with perfect powder bumps and stellar coverage. Other ROTDs were Paradise and Spillsville early, Twist, Domino, Morning Star. Very happy I made the trip and looking forward to Ellen tomorrow.

Skied mt Ellen. Exterminator woods was about as good as it gets. Dry snow and lots of it. But only did twice with nrx not running. There were lift lines but manageable. Didn’t venture into any woods mid mountain down with the new skis. upper fis, bravo and looking good all excellent.

so frustrating seeing them throw good money after bad with the nrx. Someone needs to torch that thing and put it out of its misery.

Paradise and its woods skiing very nice. Wondering if all the wind ruined woods talk is dramatic for my standards?

Assuming they keep current lifts running - not a layup for sure - they are down to 2 to go. Hope they at least get CR running for MLK.

People didn’t get the message that the place is falling apart, they are coming. Was full this weekend.
They paid up front...kinda have to, this year... hopefully they had a good time. I did, especially today in the sun

Did anyone ride Gatehouse this weekend and have issues with the person directing the line? Went through multiple times and there was zero logic to the method.

Besides the crowds on the trails, I enjoyed the skiing.

First ride up Heaven’s Gate. I had no issues with the off ramp, seemed fine to me. I thought they did a nice job on the area leading to Jester.

Yeah, Bravo too. After the second time being passed over May daughter just cut in LOL. Their lift line mgt is pretty bad but naive notices thisnis the case everywhere last few years.

Fantastic quad-crushing weekend, especially great with the sun out today. Heaven's Gate had some tough wind and I couldn't help but suspect that it would have shut down last year in similar conditions. Hooray for new things.

I didn't notice line management issues at GH but one of the guys at Valley gave me a chuckle as he kept asking every skier in the singles line, "Single?"

I forget which one(s) of you suggested earlier this week that Patrol should pulling passes, but there were definitely some chill-inducing young skiers out this weekend, especially on Downspout and Snowball. With the recent deaths of young kids at Cranmore & Jiminy being so top of mind, I'd love to see some mid-slope presence from Patrol or Ambassador's for addressing some of the skiers exceeding their ability.

Same at Bravo, Gatehouse, and HG.

But, it's not the same everywhere.

Change the mazes to funnel two at a time, multiple times if necessary. Obviates the need for staff to manage and keeps the line cutting to a minimum.

My wife is always worried about us skiing Paradise woods but I tell her skiing snowball is infinitely more dangerous. And it is.
