I have to say, there is a TON of snow on Spring Fling, I think the most that I can recall. They should be set up well for the spring- bring back the old triple for some sunny laps!
I miss the Spring Fling Triple. I remember working the top shack a couple times back in the day. It's still in use in Pennsylvania.

The key is if they have enough snow on Snowball at Lew's Jump (between Lixi's and Moonstine entrances). That's the weak spot with its terrain and exposure.

We affectionately call it “the rock garden”. It is the area most vulnerable in the Spring. There is quite a lot of depth now but that is where the spring sun hits and heats up the underlying rock. The groomers push snow over there as much as they can. As you know you eventually get a small narrow pass down skier‘s left.

Heading up to Gore instead of SB this weekend....but same type of forecast. Getting to and from the mountiain on Sunday (assuming you're not staying nearby) is going to be rough.

The natural snow this year is great news and glad we are getting some awesome days this year on the mountain. That said, the factors the mountain has control over: lifts and snowmaking (and grooming) have been a solid C- this year at best. They can certainly do a lot better operationally than what we have been experiencing. Maybe it's a ying/yang kinda thing - good snow, poor operations?

Is Slidebrook liftline accessible in the summer? I'm wondering about feasibility of using it for summer-scenic rides. TBH I think it'd have more utility that way than it's currently very limited winter use.

My understanding is no due to the bear habitat. At this rate what is the over/under on number of days it actually runs this season - I'm going to set the line at 12. The "update" didn't sound promising - try to get it open "sometime in the holiday week?" given they've been overpromising and underdelivering on the lift front this year I'm not optimistic. Once its finally up and running it will undoubtablely only run on weekends, right? With Ellen closing on Mar 30 there is not a lot time there...

also on Slide Brook - I'd be interested to see how often it is actually spinning year over year. There definitely has been a trend the last few years that its opening later in the season (or not opening at all). 2 years ago it didn't run at all. last year it opened Feb 10, this year TBD. I know there are guidelines that limit it from running (wind, temp, snowpack, etc) but it just seems like there is a lot more arbitrary decisions now which generally means you can't ever rely on it. Like management loves to push the marketing aspect - "2 ski areas connected by the world's longest detachable chairlift" but then never run it in reality. I know there are people here who will say "who cares I never ride it" but the fact is it's already built and there are plenty of people who like having the option without having to take the shuttle..

In anycase, excited for all the natural snow! Keep it coming mother nature!
