Last Friday and Saturday When it was below zero they had 4 or 5 tower guns going on Snowball starting just above Lexi's down to Domino so yes they reinforced the pack on the rock ledge.

Felt a sharp pop and pain. Knew it instantly. Was hoping for a mid-muscle tear which heals on it's own with PT and rest. But when you tear the tendons that attach the muscle to the bone (either at the pelvis or knee) it most likely needs to be fixed by surgery. I'm sure the doctor will tell me more tomorrow, but my understanding is I can live with this and just rehab it but would most likely be a diminished skier/golfer/athlete to the tune of 25-40% and who wants that?damn that sucks, sorry to hear it, heal up well and fast.
did you feel it when it happened and know you were fucked?
Sorry to hear this,… I do enjoy the positive vibe you bring here,… so don’t be a stranger. Get it fix,.. you’ll be 100% before you know it.Felt a sharp pop and pain. Knew it instantly. Geez- sorry to hear this. It's always a surprise- my only surprise is nothing has 'popped' yet.Felt a sharp pop and pain. Knew it instantly. And this should serve as a reminder to any aging guy out there, that shoveling is very overrated as a form of exercise! The ortho that I went to is a trusted friend. He's already said (after viewing my MRI) that he would recommend surgery to fix it. But his partner is the specialist so he wants me to meet him (surgical consult). I have a feeling it's more of a formality and just to make sure I like him and to go over the procedure and timeline. Doesn't sound like there's a lot of realistic other options if I want to continue to be an active person. Thanks for all the positive feedback!
Tell me about it. I shoveled out 90 fire hydrants and cleaned off 2 roofs yesterday. I'm 65 and can barely move this morning. And this should serve as a reminder to any aging guy out there, that shoveling is very overrated as a form of exercise!![]()
I know someone who had this happen. Surgery, 6 weeks no weight, then really good local PT. Two months out and he's walking around fine, using poles if walking outside just to be careful. Should be 100% by May. Sucks for this ski season, but repaired right. The ortho that I went to is a trusted friend. He's already said (after viewing my MRI) that he would recommend surgery to fix it. Snow report said scheduled maintenance for GMX, that's some good spin. To their credit though, I think they lowered the minimum temp for Slidey B to run to 5. I recall it was something like 15 a few years ago. 5 is a cold ride.
Sorry to hear. Get well.Soooo...after barely getting started, my ski season has come to an abrupt end. While the story is more complicated than this, bottom line is that I tore my left hamstring off the pelvic bone this past Sunday whille shoveling. I met with the doctor on Monday and had an MRI Monday night. This moring, the doctor told me that he recommends surgery to fix it. Having the surgical consult tomorrow. My understanding is that it's beneficial to have the surgery as soon as you can after the initial injury.
I'm super bummed on multiple levels but this is the hand I've been dealt. I'll still pop in here regularly because I won't have much else to do for a while. So feel free to entertain me with ski stories, lift complaints, snow making blunders, etc., etc.
I thought it was 5. I got stuck on it years ago for about 15 minutes on a really cold day prior to the temperature restrictions so I have no problem with them.I was wondering about that...for some reason I had 15 in my mind as well. Thought maybe I was just mis-remembering.
