I was wondering about the plan for the clubhouse replacement. I hadn't heard anything - so they are going to put some temporary structure there? Like a tent?
Steel is trading right around 2017 prices, but I'm sure it would be even cheaper without the tariffs.Tariffs affect this? I would assume so.
You're talking about what amounts to a clown show. At least they got the right lift name in there.Jesus Christ...
don't these ski resorts pay an engineering consultant to prepare these applications? That is a mistake that wouldn't leave my company or anything I review...
Terminal steel and line gear: CanadaDopp builds the UniG gear in the US, so should not affect too much of it.
US Doppelmayer said to use hot dipped galvanized steel which hasn't changed much in pricce the past year (as compared to HRC stell which has risen quite a bit)Steel is trading right around 2017 prices, but I'm sure it would be even cheaper without the tariffs.
My guess is ellen will close completely early next year when they start removal of lift, similar to the amount of terrain they had to close when replacing HG.US Doppelmayer said to use hot dipped galvanized steel which hasn't changed much in pricce the past year (as compared to HRC stell which has risen quite a bit)
The chairs are made in Thailand? Wow. I would have figured Europe or Utah.Terminal steel and line gear: Canada
Towers: USA
Operator houses: USA
Control system: USA
Station enclosures: Austria
Grips: Austria
Haul rope: Switzerland
Chairs: Asia, I believe Thailand

Is the replacement following the same alignment or will it move? I would presume that it will largely follow the same line.
Thanks. I was just perusing the materials. I can't tell if the new lift will have a storage rail at the base or if they are just marking the location of the current storage rail that will be removed.Same alignment per the ACT 250 filing.
And, in 35+ years of living here and skiing SB, I have never referred to SB as "The Bush". Never heard it even in conversation in the Valley. Maybe it's just me and who I am around, but it's not a name we have used. Pretty silly moniker, IMO, but to each his/her/its own.
Hopefully this is under the sidsturbed limit set by the State or the site contractor better get some erosion controls set up quickly, unfortantly VT has some strict standards to follow especially for winter disturbances.

+1It's not, because GMX just needs to be fixed, not replaced.
Oops...that's a big goof. LEt's see if this throws it off track for more than the 10 seconds it would take to correct itFirst sentence of the ACT 250 Application:
"Sugarbush Mountain Resort is pleased to submit the enclosed application for the North Ridge Express Lift Replacement Project (“Project”) at Lincoln Peak at Sugarbush Resort."
So the net result will be that IKONers will get a $30 credit and Bobby will throw EPIC folks a free "I Love Epic" hat.
