I'm good for about 5 days, but if its dumping mid-week, I'm going stir crazy at my desk, so in that case, 2-3 days.. So I take powder days to cure my sickness. The bossman expects it once it snows more than 6"....

We go weekly. So not going weekly makes me a little nutty. I look forward to our trip up all week.

4 days. I had plans to night ski tonight, but have to work late. Really not a happy man. Its more like how many days I go before taking a vacation day to ski in the winter. Usually a day every other week and vacation weeks spread out here and there.

Once the season starts, work or family may cause a weekend, but never two in a row and usually the weekend after the one I miss, I get out two days.

Getting out once a week is pretty good for me. Getting out west one week a month really helps. So i'm off to Utah...and can't wait!

I think that people's responses are going to depend on where they live. Living in Jersey, I can wait a couple weeks or more for better conditions or a trip up North for some real skiing. If I lived in New England, I would probably be chomping at the bit more.

I live in Jersey but I'll get antsy if I haven't gotten some kind of skiing in about 5 days once the season is in full swing. I'll pretty much ski any conditions and being in Jersey I've skied some really, really bad conditions but also some really good conditions. It's been 3 days since I skiied and I can't wait to get on skis today. Maybe I'm antsy after 3 days, not 5.

During the ski season I can go two days without skiing...It's very rare for me to go more than 2 days in a row without skiing once Blue mountain opens..early and late season I'm a weekend warrior up north..Ski season is too short to go extended periods without skiing, especially when there are local options..

....

As I'm going through the job_hunt-thing(GREAT timing eh'!??;-)) along with having to be extra frugal, the resort-bound stuff isn't happenning much this season. Mainly waiting for more snow as that'll make for the no-name mountains/hills to open up, or should I say...cover over the rocks and blowdowns(in addition to Tuckerman and Katahdin)...but trails/cutting-roads are already good for daily xc up here, but still need a good dump...imo.

I usually get ansy after two weeks if the conditions are good. If the conditions aren't, it's not so hard to wait as long as it doesn't go past a few weeks. I get real edgy in March and April cause I love spring skiing and know the window is short.

Living in SE Pa, I agree with this sentiment.

question is, how long can you go without skiing till it just becomes unbearable? Conditions sorta come into play for me,
I will go a month without feeling bad if conditions suck. I have no misery in not skiing when conditions are not up to par, I would rather be home. If conditions are good, I am going that week. Period.

I agree, except my sanity window is 2 weeks EXCEPT if hurt . AS Picabo once said " when you're hurt , you're dirt "

It's been 2 weeks now and i'm still sore but improving i see some sub arctic skiing this coming week though, even if i have to take it easy )

Our season just never seems to get a break. A couple of days of skiing and then the resorts shut down. I've got 8 days in this year, should have +30. From the last storm.
