My ex-wife told me i had to come home early from a trip once... that pretty much put the "ex" in her title...

There are times that I wonder why I did it. Last night, I got it thrown in my face about takings days off during the week to go skiing. ???? I would have been at work and I was home in plenty of time to get the kids to the practices.

WTF!!!!!!:smash: :smash: :smash: :smash: :smash:

I should have just become a ski bum in the 80's.

If it wasn't for my wife I would have never started skiing. Too bad I became obsessed with it and now drive her crazy about it...like recently.
Typical daily conversation recently: " but we just got back from vermont"
" yeah, but it's snowed over 4 feet since"
I might have convinced her that we have to hit Killington next weekend.

no - its annoying, meaning the guys that married the women that dont ski and then b1tch that they cant ski and they are jealous of those that can. dude, dont get married, marry someone who skis, dont have kids, or live close to a mountain so you can sneak over, and i dont mean a bump in PA as a mountain--whatever--life is too short to have all these obligations and weddings and chores that you have to do, unless you are into doing that kind of stuff.

.

Actually Woodlawn...He didn't get it right. It should have been "they're."
Meaning they (the wives) are irritating. The way TJF wrote it, "their irritating" would be incorrect.

But, back to the topic at hand. One of the many benefits of how much my 4 y.o. daughter who I started skiing this year has taken to it...is now I just have to mention to her that we should go skiing and she starts in on the wife for me. :)

So... you say it's annoying that guys can't go skiing because their wives don't want them to and then you say it's ok if "you're into that kind of stuff". Which one is it, man?

I'm not trying to troll here, but personally, I'd think about what I had to say before I say it; all this talk of women being jealous of better skiers and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah sounds a bit ignorant to me. Marraige is about commitment to another person... If you can't understand why a wife would want her husband around the house every so often that's your problem, not hers.

cried during fried green tomatoes-----that's some funny sauce woody----I hear what you're sayin', but then again I consider myself one of the lucky ones. My wife and I are both ski bums and rip it whenever we get the chance. Granted we don't have kids, our choc lab Bode takes care of that, but that's by choice ifin' you hear me. We have friends that do have kids and they're at the mt as much as we are kids or no kids. Like clown says, it's a lifestyle and a choice. Peace

My wife could care less when and where we ski. She new full well the snow nut that she married well in advance.

Actually having a child is a benefit as my son is just as much or even more passionate about skiing then I sometimes can be.

Skiing and more importantly snow are an integral part of my life and my wife is very supportive of this even though she does not ski due to knee/health issues.
