I don't know how it was for everyone else, but holy crap there is a lot of flooding up here, and downed trees and insanity. Looking at the forecast it looks like PM showers all over tomorrow night too, then not nearly as cold as it was supposed to be. It sure sucks in Hunter. :-x DMC, you know what I'm talking about. AND someone crashed into the rockface on Platt Clove...THAT was fun driving up tonight, oi. How's the weather looking everywhere else?

I decided to head up to Boston this weekend and check out the ski show. That is, as I think Greg said, the closest anyone's going to get to skiing this weekend.

It was crazy - I didn't take the back mountain road last night... glad I didn't.. But even 214 had downed trees and flooding..
It actually a really sweet day out right now... Too bad last nights rain wasnt snow...

I've never seen the rivers as high as they are today -- even during spring thaw. It's amazing.

I've definately seen them higher - at least behind my house - not sure aobout other places... I think last June was the highest I've seen since I've live near the creek...

What was amazing was how fast the river went up...

I passed a picnic table on a grassy spot by the river on the way to town today. The picnic table was one third submerged (and had gathered a lot of flotsam). That picnic table has been there a decade, and I've never seen any part of it flooded before.

I'm glad something's changing, because the warmth is really freaking me out. Either way, someone will take a picture this weekend when the guns start -- not me, though. Just keep checking the blog or whatever, I'll have someone post when it happens.

Cool. Someone please keep us posted throughout the weekend. Hunter is likely my best option for next weekend. Finger crossed...

No guns on yet... In fact there's no lights on up on the hill.. So I doubt anything tonight..
General consensus at the bar tonight was snowmaking will begin tomorrow...

WAHOOOOO!

Dusting of snow at higher elevations.. Temps in the 30's...

We burn skis and boards tonight to sacrifice to ULLR... Hopefully that should give the whole process a boost... :)

I'll be sure to do my patented snowdance. Looks like I'll be at Whiteface next weekend, hopefully Hunter after that.
