like dmc said, snow right underneath the lift is usually the best on the hill...

At Hunter the snow under the Z Chair on the bottom of Clairs is usually great!
Also the snow under the B Lift on Kennedy is sweet too...

Doesn't bother me either...

I stay pretty focused trying to jam through the bumps...

Only time I notice the chair is when someone asks how much I want for the skis, poles, boots, gloves...

I like resting in the snow in my long johns

Other than backcountry, liftlines are some of my favorites. Of which, I would say the best are:
- Liftline at Castlerock
- Liftline at Smuggs
- Morningstar at Sugarbush
- Chute at MRG

Does the double chair that runs up the Mall ever get used? I've never seen it running in all the times I've been to Sugarbush.

I think that run is one of the most underrated at the resort. Narrow, bumped, weird double fall line. A classic.

Good point - I totally forgot about the Mall. I love that trail. It is definitely one of my favorites.

To answer your question, the lift on the Mall runs on most weekends and holidays but doesn't run midweek. That seems to be the Sugarbush philosophy with alot of their lifts.

I like the added pressure of skiing "in view" under the lift.

As Zand mentioned above regarding Wachusett....10th Mtn trail is pretty much completely under the lift.

The Mall is a great liftline where people can see you coming forever.

My favorite, however, is the Castlerock liftline on a fresh powder day. There are few things better than launching yourself off of the various nooks and crannies on skier's right and landing in pure fluff under the watchful eyes of the chairlift riders.

Ripcord is, IMHO, a dreadful trail. Always scrapey, manmade garbage.

I'd like to nominate White Heat as one of the most overrated trails ever. It's always icy with a bunch of intermediates who want to prove that they can ski it. I'm all set with that.

I would say that Agony is Sunday River's best liftline.

indeed, great bump run. sunday river actually has some okay lift line runs, of which white heat is not one of them. the lift lines over on jordan bowl and oz are also fantastic. better than agony for challenge, but there's something about agony that makes it a great trail regardless of actual pitch or challenge. the bumps form just so nicely.

I was skiing the River during the weekend of thier first Bust and Burn/Legends of Freestyle comp and it was a beautiful April day. High 60's and bluebird with tons of coverage! After skiing like a champ all morning I decided to strip down to shorts and a t-shirt for the afternoon. Well of course I had to try and showboat down Agony under a packed Barker Quad and I fell 4 times.the last time was the worst. Down low I tried to air off a lip next to the tower, and when I came down I was in the backseat and ended up yardsaleing in the middle of a huge puddle   :dunce:  I was drenched, but at least 50 people got a good laugh! I was also a bloody mess when I got to the bottom. Spring snow can cut you up in a hurry!
That day was perhaps the best time I ever had at Sunday River. I met and talked with Legends like Scotty Brooksbank, Wayne Wong & I rode a lift with John Clentendine(sp?) and many other noteworthy Hot Doggers. Good times  .
