How would you compare it to Stowe or Sugarbush?

Vail wins hands down! This is a case where there is no real comparison in the East vs West thing! Stowe is champs of the East "cha-ching" skiing scene, but it's not in the same league as Vail "cha-ching" wise by a big margin!!

Bill, you forgot my favorite "B" one- Beaver Liquors! (Yup that's the stores actual name!!) And it really does have a good selection of beers, wines, and spirits (and also does a very large t-shirt, hat, and outerwear business with some items with sayings that are "R rated" to say the least ;):D:)

I *might* have picked up a t-shirt or two, along with a 6 pack of Big Sky Brewings Moose Drool there last week ;)

DJ, there are so many liquor stores on the list, I figured one sample was enough. It seems like enough liquor to have everyone rolling in the streets!

That's just a list of stores, what about the scene? Percentage of locals on the hill, etc?

Plan early! Get their Epic 7 pass that they've been offering the last few years. The cut off for purchase is in early September, you get 7 days total (they don't have to be consecutive either) at any of their resorts (Vail, Beaver Creek, Breck, Keystone, Kirkwood, Northstar, Heavenly, and they just bought a few small places in Michigan too). Adult 7 day epic passes were $529 last year (just looked on the website and its posted as the same for next season too) and the kids price for the 7 day Epic pass was $249! They also have 4 day Epic Passes for $349! Much better than $129 at the window!

The Epic Local is the same price and includes 10 days at Vail/BC and unlimited at the rest. It is blacked out on the major holiday weekends however.

The price went up I think $20 for next year, but its still a great deal. Now if Vail would only buy a mountain out east.
