Epic!!Wildcat closing for the season on 4/6 due to not enough snow to continue. However the good news is Vail's friendly and welcoming staff will be there to greet you for a bonus weekend at Attitash 4-12/13. (Subject to whether management still feels like doing it next week)
"Awwww, thanks Deady Heady. I knew that you would be the first one to comment about our special initiative for those poor Wildcat skiers and riders. Boy their management and ownership are going to be pissed when their skiers and riders see just how EPIC Attitash is in comparison to Wildcat!"Wildcat closing for the season on 4/6 due to not enough snow to continue. Come on DHS, you are aware he grew up a Hun-tah skier aren't you? Which means the odds of him having gone on a family vacation to Hampton Beach are atleast 50/50!Gonna call AI here. Bobby don't know where NH is.
There's a metaphor somewhere out there, comparing Wildcat these days to a cheap Hampton Beach motel. Has to be.
"Wildcat’s become a place you book in desperation at 2:00 a.m. because everywhere else is full."
Yeah you're wrong it's not the same because they don't blow snow worth a fuck.Like Hampton Beach, Wildcat is a place that seemed awesome when you were younger but as you get older realize was more of a pile of shit than you realized.
This board, for whatever reason, acts like Wildcat was a premier ski area on the East Coast, when the reality was even 30 years ago it had a crap snowmaking system and rusted out gondola cabins they would charge an arm and leg for foliage tours on and not much else. It has always been more of a Magic or Burke than Stowe or Okemo, but it seemed big when you were younger and didn't know any better. Every single one of Wildcat's problems predates Vail and even Peak before that, but the difference Vail isn't willing to lose a couple hundred grand a year to appease like six old fucks on AZ.

Yeah no, you are looking back at history with rose colored glasses.
10 years ago the entire system was broken and they blew zero snow as just one example. That wasn't a Vail problem, and predated Peak ultimately (in terms of why that shit the bed). There was a reason Peak picked up Wildcat for like a couple mill, and it was because it was a dumpster fire in terms of infrastructure, has basically zero ability to expand or develop, and was treated accordingly by prior owners.
Every single one of you has acted like Wildcat was a major player and has regressed, when outside of pissing away money staying open for like six people till the end of April, not much has changed. The reality Wildcat is a middle of the road ski area and Vail is the owner that is treating it as such. It makes zero sense, from a business standpoint, to run it otherwise. I get you wish that wasn't the case, but it sure is easy to spend other people's money.
A fancy knife company accountant knows the books of Wildcat. Prove itA medical supplies salesman knows the books of Wildcat. Prove it.
