I mean even recently at look at Wells Fargo,
Employees created millions of unauthorized bank and credit card accounts under customers’ names to meet aggressive sales goals. KPMG one of the big 4 was responsible for their audits since around 2002.

Plenty of other companies too, Tyco, Worldcom, Wirecard, Lehman Brothers. All audited, all falsifying statements, etc

It’s really not that uncommon.

I can easily see them playing a revenue / liability game like Enron. Maybe not as blatant but just enough to meet those analyst consensus number. We shall see. next couple years should be interesting for them.
im sure the current news isn’t a ‘pro‘ for pass sales.

I'm sure the SEC is going to be all over Vail for not having their snow totals up to snuff.

There are over 40,000 companies in the US alone under the SEC's purview, and they completed maybe 500 enforcement actions total last year. Maybe Vail will be one of them, but I doubt it.

Considering day tripping Okemo on Saturday or Sunday. I have two unused Epic Day Passes and was gonna go with a friend. The issue is that one of them is a childs pass and we are both six feet tall. How closely do they look at the name/pass type or whatever when they scan?

Very. Because the ticket scanners are incentivized to do so as they get 10% of the take when they catch someone.

And Vail will also go so far as to call the police & ring you up for criminal, "Theft of Services" charges, which yes, I know sounds like bats**t insane overkill, but I've personally seen it happen.

Yeah, I'd say 99% chance of getting caught on that one. Terrible idea.

Yeah its either they dont give af at all or are ridiculous about scanning. Ive had them pull me out of line in lessons with my uniform on just to check my scan, and other times they dont even attempt to scan at all. I never have my pass on me and only ~30% of the time do I even have to pull my phone out and show them my picture of it.

I'd say everywhere else but Vail would probably do that. Its worth asking, but god knows they don't have anyone at Okemo to actually answer the phone. especially this time of year...

definitely don't just try to use it. The Kids tickets make a different sound than the adults on the scanners. just like the epic day tickets make a different sound than the regular season passess.

Lots of scanning at Breck today, and asked for my name twice. Trying to trip people up. Gotta make sure the twins have their correct passes. I can see Vail giving them a hard time even though they're right next to each other.

How is Brekenridge skiing? Hitting Beaver's closing day tomorrow as we arrived in Avon tonight, then I think Vail Monday, then rest of week we're staying in Breck.

Kind of shocked how much less snow there is here in Colorado then there is currently in Park City, so a bit worried. LOL
