It's quite interesting, because they'd be complete idiots if they posted an increase, but at the same time the only way they can even attempt to maintain results is by not only increasing pass prices, but perhaps a SUBSTANTIAL (versus prior years) increase.

So while I think the smart thing might be to simply increase the passes in-line with inflation with a small 3% increase, that's not the "Vail way", and I think they're going to try to "make up" for all the lost lift ticket sales, lesson sales, food and beverage sales, etc.... with an even bigger than normal increase.

It's really going to be fascinating to see what they decide.

At Park City, this week they wrapped the Red Pine Gondola cabs in Miller Lite advertisements.

The crazy thing about this is it completely destroys the mountain views that you enjoy on the entire ride as it entirely covers the glass. I realize this is not dispositive, but they've never done this before, it's very ugly (and noticeable), and I think it speaks to Vail trying to recapture and $$$$ it possibly can.

Can you not see out the windows at all, or does it just make the view not as nice?

One can only hope. Have to imagine the MWV area as a whole would like to see that come back, although the water park area is surely gone for good. Can’t see Vail reinstalling any of that.

You can't see at all.

Someone told me it might be for an invite only night skiing private party event held Friday night that went to 1am (can't even imagine what that cost) in which case it could be temporary, but I didn't ski yesterday to know if they were removed or not.

Wasn't the night skiing over at the PC side? Why would they put wraps on Red Pine then?
