Not the movie, the movie was great. It was a bit odd to to not hear him narate. This was the first Warren Miller film I had seen that lacked his naration, though I know it's been several years since he gave it up. Johnny Mosley did a great job, but obviously not the same. Such is life.......things have and always will change.

But the point of my thread here is the somewhat misleading nature of both the skinet website AND even more so the voucher you receive at the film. As the saying goes, 'Don't ever look a gift horse in the mouth', I hate to complain, but I do feel mislead.

If you look at the special offers for Sunday River and Sugarloaf, you would think that you are receiving BOTH a free early season lift ticket AND a two for one coupon good for the remainder of the season following January 2nd. I have always understood the definition of the word 'also' as in addition to. When you go to print off your coupons, this is not the case. The coupon states that you can use if for one or the other, NOT both. Definitely a dissappointment.

Also (in addition to) this dissappointment:

The voucher I received at the movie states that I am entitled to a free mid week ticket to Stratton as well as a free ticket to Ascutney on Warren Miller Appreciation Days. This was a pleasent suprise as it was not listed on the website, so when I got the voucher I felt I received an added bonus. When you go to redeem your coupons, this offer is absent. No coupons are available.

Like I said, I hate to bitch about free offers, but I do feel that I have been mislead to the tune of one lift ticket at Ascutney, one lift ticket at Stratton, 1 two for one at Sunday River and 1 two for one at Sugarloaf.

So, having said all this, do you feel I have grounds for complaint and that I should call the company in an attempt to receive the balance of the free offers?

I do....

definitely feel a bit mislead.

Hrm.. Rereading the offers, yea, they should have added the word 'or' in there.

Are the offers limited to 'one per person', or is it still one for each time you go?

Hmm, I didn't have any confusion. I knew before I got the vouchers that it was an either or situation. I see it as a free ticket that if you can't redeem it before it expires it becomes a 2 for 1.

For the Somerville show we got the Ascutney and Stratton tickets, so maybe the literature got messed up. Maybe you can complain to someone and still get them?

At the Portland show they had a somewhat vague anouncement the tickets would be tied in to where you saw the movie.

More reason why I don't go to the shows anymore....just Meatheads for me....and even then I feel like they rig the 'raffles.'

I feel mislead because a number of the vouchers expire much earlier than I expected. I thought it was clear that the maine vouchers became useless 2-for-1s, but I didn't expect so many vouchers to expire in Jan or Feb. If i had known this I may not have gone.

I don't know why you guys are acting suprised that there are restrictions on the "free" vouchers. I know they are a bit of an extra incentive to get you to go see the movie (and pay the $20), but wouldn't you be going anyway under most circumstances? If they lowered the price to $10 and offered no freebies then what? And a 2 for 1 ticket is useless? Would you prefer to pay full price? It seems like a lot of good deals for only 10 bucks.

As an additional warning, the shows which list 'More Info' or whatever instead of 'Special offers' don't have the same deals. The more info is so you can email that particular promotor who is doing it independently.

Don't get me wrong, it's a good deal no matter what, but the way the advertisement reads, I think most people would be under the impression that you got both the early season ticket AND a twofer.

'also' has always meant to me, in addition to, not either or.

As for the Ascutney or Stratton tickets.....we'll see what the say when I call on Monday.
