Was thinking about going skiing this weekend but weather looks too warm.

Possibility of R...have to see the forecast for K on SUnday before I try to book the bus from hell...not into skiing in R anymore...

It's going to be close for Sunday. HEre's K-ton's forecast...I could see some light rain starting to pull in but it looks fairly light. Saturday would be my pick as Friday night's showers taper off early Sat AM. Most of the weekend looks fairly dry.

Don't be fooled by conditions in the suburbs in either Bos or NY. Its been warm the past few days here in NNJ but up at Camelback there has been no softening or melting outside of the parking lot and its summit is only 2000'. Sun angle is still low and while absorbing some water this weekend and next week should hold out pretty well till the next window opens next week. The weekend should be good and enjoy the warmth and soft snow.

Should be fine as long as what falls is rain and it doesn't get cold enough to freeze. This weekend actually looks quite ideal for a thaw with rain (as ideal as this type of event can get). I'll probably go out Saturday as long as it isn't still raining. Snow might be soft and wet but it should still ski okay.

Well I'll be at Hunter Sunday..just follow the slime trail and you'll find me.

I meant to reply to this earlier but got sidetracked. If you happen to read this before heading out, you should be ok at Hunter today. Most showers hold off til overnight--maybe a light shower before last chair but most of the day looks dry. Maybe Whiteface/Titus getting one or two late PM--western resorts may get a few more in the PM but Gore, Hunter thru VT/NH/ME, we're looking ok (dry) today. Enjoy.

Seeing a lot of low 20s on Tuesday. Anyone think the snow won't be rock hard? Was going to do Mon and Tue at Saddleback but conditions aren't worth it to me. Hoping for a day trip with ok conditions but I think I'm in denial.

Depending on where you live, below freezing temps look to be moving in and staying long-term sometime Monday evening/overnight. All the computer models have this, so I imagine the probability is high.

Yup. Agreed. Grasping at straws here. Sigh.

Very sad weather. +9C up at Jay. This is freakishingly hot weather for mid January. Snow is disappearing incredibly fast. Went from nearly perfect conditions to this within one week.
