id suspect its snow >2000 feet, especially all the way up at jay, and snow level will drop lower overnight. they reported a lot of dropped ropes today. i'm stuck down at loon anyway on account of the skis at the shop.

Still raining at the base of Jay as of about 20 minutes ago per my wife's business partner! (Granted her and her husband apparently just uncorked bottle #4 of wine for the night, so their objectivity could be called into question!! Lol! ) but she said that their family had far more fun inside the pumphouse today on the water slides than out on the hill!!

that place smells like pee.

radar shows rain in NH with snow at higher peaks, and some light snow rolling in over the next few hours in the adks, jay, whites. nothing for most of the green spine.

Turns out my CB coupon was blacked out yesterday. Ended up at Blue - nice day. Bumps on challenge, which was nice. Quit a few nice bump runs, soft snow, sunny day, not very crowded. Nice day.

Now back to watching the weather disintegrate for next weekend....ugh.

Jay got a bit a rain at the base, but mostly it was wet snow. Very little rain. The top got good snow (skinned up since top lifts were closed). Net accumulation was about 8-10inches on top, may be a couple of inches at the base (don't believe the 14 inches advertised...). Was all rain all day 400 feet below the base. First tracks in Valhalla top to bottom. Best run of the year.

Was there yesterday, too. Nice bump scene at Blue. Lots of good bumpers out for the awesome spring conditions.

Lyndon got rain for the majority of the day on Saturday. Any reports from up on Burke mountain?

Yeah - totally. My daughter and I were there 9:30-2:30-ish.

Bumps on Main street I - Barney's Bumps - I thought were the best, but it was fun to see that long line on Challenge.

Blue has always embraced bumps, but really nice to see them take it further with bumps on Challenge.

Fun day.

Just got in from a few runs. Lower mountain is soft. Mid and above is partially refrozen. Plastic feeling surface that you get after wet granular sets up but before it is bullet proof. You can get an edge in. There are spots where groomers put down and uneven surface so keep your head up.

You mean they lucked out with no rain on the slopes?

Light rain for about 15 minutes in the morning and that's it. It was all rain up to 1500 feet. There is absolutely no snow left in the valleys. Jay was just high enough to avoid the mess.

To be fair, I left at 18h00 Saturday but kept watching the radar all night and it stayed like snow on top. Never seen such a narrow blue line on tthe spine of the greens. The wind was pretty bad on top. I skinned up sys-boom-ba and 2-thirds of the trail was sheer ice but I was skinning on a 5 foot tall snowdrift with little to no visibility. Felt like winter for the first time in a long time.

Overall a fun day at sugarbush. Conditions were not the best but after doing some exploring found some good stuff. They definitely need a big storm

Sounds like I missed the better day of the weekend. Today was a bit disappointing. The groomed trails on the bottom of the mountain off Super Bravo could best be described as "Frozen Corduroy". Gate House side was better presumably since the surface set up better before they groomed it. Off Heaven's Gate was decent. Upper Ripcord skied well and Jester was mostly nice.

Lower mountain also had a lot of uneven ruts you had to watch out for...

Pats was soft mashed today. Main objective was to spend time with my son on the Valley lift. Making good progress at age 3. Nice complex there for teaching the little ones.

I made some laps up top before having late lunch/early dinner with the family in the Sled Pub.
Pats has very good coverage right now. They know what they are doing there to appeal to the $ demographic

Skied mt Ellen and its was hard also. Some good conditions on the upper part of the mtn, but overall not great.

Yesterday LP definitely had the nicer snow. Up on lower jester/ domino chute I found some powder on the the edges of the trails and some decent snow on spring fling/snowball. Ripcord was probably better today since I don't know if heavens gate even opened yesterday at all so it was just people hiking up. The snow was definitely much heavier at mt Ellen and it was super sticky, I stopped a couple times and almost couldn't get going again and on a couple trails I almost ate shit because my skis would slow down significantly but my body kept going. It was definitely way icier/ more bare at mt Ellen. Looking good had some decent snow but it was definitely getting skied off. Elbow was an icefest.

loon was sticky as hell yesterday by late afternoon. i too also had a hard time restarting movement on a few occasions. took the skis for a wax after skiing. they needed a base grind anyway. between smuggs, mad river, sugarbush, and loon, ive done some very questionable and equipment damaging tree skiing this year.

Was at Smuggs Fri- Sunday. Rain started at Morse mid morning then made its way all the way to mi-station round 1, but above that was great skiing. If you could stand half the M1 ride in the rain it was a fun afternoon.

Today was great up top and a mix of some skied off boiler plate and some crusty soft snow down below. They opened liftline and got a run in on black hole, which was my run of the year so far. Upper glades in good shape after the ~ 6" or so the last day or two. Lower mountain glades a different story, but still had fun on a closed Bermuda.

24 runs at Wa in about 4 hrs.

From bulletproof to classic April corn and slush. Every run better than the last, really.

The base is pretty beat and shockingly thin. Jealous of you who got the goods Saturday up north.

Got about 30 runs at the Crotch in 3.5 hours. I just kept telling myself that it was April and had a decent time. Maybe a 5 chair wait a couple of times, rest was ski on. I feel bad for the ski areas, a nice warm day that overlaps both Ma & NH vacation weeks should have been a lot busier!

Qman what time were you there? We got there around 930 and the corn harvest was great!! Skied until 230 then called it a day. Depending on how warm and wet it really gets, they may not survive this week without a resurface or MA nature lending a hand.
