K2 Apache Recon 174cm 119 78 105 Love this ski!! Great in Powder and crud and can hold its own on hard pack.
On days when the cover is thin or just for fun I still pull out my K2 Axis 188cm 107 70 97.

I ski the K2 axis XP 174cm which is the same ski as the RECON. I use the K2 for everyday skiing.

On snow days I use the Volkl Mantra 177cm. This is one of the most amazing skis I have ever used. You got to know what your doing (very technical) but it gives back everything you put into it.

My back country setup is a pair of 168cm Dynastar Inspired by Jermey Nobis with Fritschi Freeride bindings.

everything I have has a wood core.

Head iM75 Monsters. 168, I think. Don't have many days on them yet, but what I've seen so far I've liked.

Edit- they're 163's, with a radius of 15.5

Do you guys like the Recons?

I too have the 174 Recons, but I'm thinking about selling them. They're a little too damp for me and a little too heavy too. Great ski, but I usually prefer something lighter, snappier, and more responsive.

I really do like them. I demoed them and a bunch of other last year and then bought the Recons. They are on the heavy side but I must like that because my Axis are heavy as well. I love to do snappy turns as well and for me the recons work well for that...all the more reason to demo.

I'm skiing on 2007 Atomic Metron B5s in 162 cm. Dimensions are 133-76-116, which yields a turn radius of 11 meters. People either love this ski or hate it. I happen to love it! It makes short snappy turns that I like plus the edge grip is phenomenal. I feel like I'm riding on rails when I ski groomers. The confidence these skis inspire in me is amazing. I feel invincible on them.

I'm looking at expanding my quiver to include a powder ski. Either the Volkl Mantra or Dynastar 8800, depending on how they feel when I demo them. The Metrons ski powder and crud reasonably well but there's nothing like a good fat board for those epic powder days.

I demo'd those a couple of times and had the same feeling. :daffy:

Burton Custom 162 Limited Edition (bling bling with a ostrich leather topsheet)
Nidecker Carbon 900 bindings (one of the top three freeride bindings out there, these suckers are bare none, the best bindings Ive ever used)
Head 180 boots. (nothing special but the price was right and they are comfy)

So when I bought my setup I tried to find one that I could use anywhere. Backcountry, on piste, the trees, you name it. I ride mostly freeride, with little time spent in the park, so this setup works amazing. The bindings lock my feet in place like nothing else Ive ever riden. Response on my board, even considering its a large freeride setup, is incredible. Stiff so I can go as fast as my balls will allow.
