I'm keeping track of CO, and Utah resorts. I think they will be the early season ticket.

Trying not to have any expectations, but I'm hoping to get something in by around T-Day. I think we hit Snow the day after T-Day last year. That would be fine with me to start the season...

Unless we get some major dumps, 2 days at the River, 2 days at the Loaf prior to New Years, maybe a Wildcat or Shawnee day or two in there, but the first 4 are all that I'm really hoping for right now.

I am keeping my expectations low. That way if things are bad I will not be disappointed. Hope to have at least something by first week in December.

I really hope Blue mountain can open a week after Black Friday..that's still officially November and the earliest I remember them openeing is December 2nd...I'd definitely like 30 days in by New Years..that's most dependent on when Blue mountain opens. I'd also like to hit an early season session at Big Boulder if they can open before Blue mountain like last season..it's less than an hour from me...it's tiny in vert but I can get alot of runs in. 43 runs in 4 hours last December on opening day..it was cool because opening day at Big Boulder was in the 20s and there were tower guns blowing on all the open trails creating a sweet silky surface

Blue is my favorite in the Poconos. It's furthur for me though, about 1:45. I also like Elk further north, but that's a 3 HR drive and I might as well go to the Catskills if I'm gonna drive that far. Last season early was terrible everywhere, but if they have time to blow snow they usually blow the most in the area. I like Razor's Edge because they have that computerized and there's always tons of snow on it everyday. I heard they were opening the new blue trail this season, but now I'm hearing that it won't be ready till next season? What have you heard?

I ski Blue nearly everyday that I'm not on a ski trip but I'm 30 minutes away...In the new brochure, they're saying that the new trail will be ready for 2008-09..nothing new for this season except new terrain park features. I like Razors alot but unfortunately, they close it for racers at 8:00AM most Saturday and Sunday mornings for 2 hours..so I can usually get 4 quick runs on it from 7:30AM-8:00AM..

Man, 4 quick runs on Razor's Edge in 30 minutes? The lift ride up is probably 24 of those minutes. You must be straighlining top to bottom.

I screwed my back up MTBing this fall and am still recovering, so to be honest I'm in a terribly crabby state and not all that psyched about whether the weather changes early or not. I'd really like to see myself out on the slopes at least ONCE in November, but right now all odds seem to be against that. My expecations of "early" this year are beginning of December.

Looking at my calendar and announced opening schedules.... Killington should be operating the weekend before Thanksgiving. I do Vancouver for Christmas every year and I'll wander up to Whistler for a couple of days. If somebody opens before KMart, I'll grab whatever I can on weekends before Killington goes online.

If the weather cooperates, I should have 19 Kmart days, a couple Whistler days, and a white ribbon of death opening day or two somewhere in New England by New Years day.

After last year, mine are set pretty low. After skiing only a handful of WRODs well into December last year, I would really like to be treated to some decent terrain in December.

Interesting re-reading this thread. This was Killington on 12/4/07:

Maybe we'll score some early days like that this season.
