I was moving east and was looking for some reassurance that my ski life wouldn't be ending. Saw a post on epicski that referred to AZ, so I checked it out.

Started on Epic which was/is a good board , but seemed geared to the real expert skier in the West . I wanted something with both an Eastern focus and something a little lighter in demeanor and fun so i surfed till this one seemed to fit . Still visit Epic but AZ is a much better fit for me .

I signed up on Epic before AZ. I hardly posted there.

What was the main reason you initially joined AZ?

I joined to try to get a better handle on ski conditions, real-time. That was simply it.
Don't remember HOW I found AZ, probably from Epic.

But the WHY for sticking around is the same, a more northeast focus ski forum.

Of course I got a lot more than just ski condition. Deals, ins and outs of various places. Lessor known hills, place to stay, place to eat, place to avoid, etc. the list goes on and on...

One day when EpicSki crashed(epic is my forum home) someone who knew me on SkiDiva pm'd me to say that there were posts on AZ asking about Epics crash. So, I registered to answer the questions, but by that time the site was back up. Later Severine's posts on SkiDiva influenced me to introduce myself here, then I bumped into some of my Bear Friends, like Warp Daddy, PuckIt, WA-Loaf, SkiDork, and the like, it was almost like home,

Then the best thing ever, I got to take a ski trip with Severine. That was the bomb!!!
We have to do that again!!

I actually joined Epic after AZ. I don't spend much time there, but it's great when you want to read gear reviews and have some techy questions. Otherwise AZ is home.

I must have followed some Ski Divas over here. What I like best about AZ is the intimate knowledge of local places to ski. I can only dream of heading west for now, but all of NH is my playground these days.
