It’s Thursday afternoon and you’ve just arrived at the condo you rented, at your favorite mountain within driving distance of your home, with your best ski buds, for that 3 day weekend you’ve been looking forward to all season. The forecast couldn’t be better, in 5 hours it’s suppose to start puking snow. By morning the snow is suppose to stop, giving way to sunny skis, no wind and 30 degree temps for the next 3 days.

Your wife calls, in tears, everything about her day has gone wrong. Her job sucks, she feels sick, the kids are in trouble in school, there is a leak in the ceiling, her sister’s husband has left her for another women and her aging parents are taking up more and more of her time. She says she really needs you to be home to be with her, please come home now. Other then the loss of your companionship your friends will not suffer from your departure. What do you do?

Flat out refuse

Handle the problems via phone the best you can and be prepared to accept consequences when you get home.

Creative lie – explain

Go home

BTW, I was thinking of using spouse instead of wife, but men don’t do things like that so I decided to keep it real.

Flat out refuse would lead to my death.

So, I would say it's puking snow out and there's 2 feet on the ground, but that I'm in the process of packing the car and should be home in 9 hours or so depending on the snow conditions. I'd also tell her to call the state police if I'm not home in 12 hours, then tell her my route.

My wife doesn't like driving in the snow...she would tell me to stay put and that she will get through it herself.

I married a redhead who can handle any problem that is thrown at her ( I was skiing at Hunter while she went into labor) So besides some phone calls to make sure everything was okay, I would enjoy the skiing.

That is impressive. My wife would have been a bitch and expect me to miss a day of skiing just so I would be there when she gave birth to our child. Like theres anything thing I could do or like it hasn't been done before. Dang.

Ok Here's a womans reply you keep sking you want to know why here gose no matter how good of a man you are you will not be able to fix her crappy job her sick parents or the fact that her sister husband left her the leak in the ceilling you may be able to fix depending on how handy you are but not if its snowing and your better getting someone who knows what there doing and will fix it right the first time if you have a handyman or know a contactor who can do the job you call them from the condo. This is not the 1950's she should be able to enforce punishment on the kids with or without you they did the crime it is up to her to make sure they get punished dose not mean you should not talk to them and let them know that you in your own way are pretty tick off at them. The fact that she is feeling sick is probable just stress inform said rotten child that he or she now will be responible for making and cleaning up dinner which will give wife time to take a bath and feel better let you in on a little secret most women get stress because we have control issues we have to have everything done our way and when something gose wrong we freak if you help her with out changing your plans it will work out better for everyone.

I would likely go home and deal with the wife, just to avoid future conflict..she;d better have a better reason than "hates her job" or "sisters hubby is leaving her" those are hardly reasons to come home from a PLANNED ski trip with buddies.

Women are like elephants...they NEVER forget...you can be sure if you DONT go home...that will be thrown in your face for the rest of your life..

I refer to it at P.O.T.H. Power Of The Hole....women control the world

I told him it was his last day of sking for the seson but to be at the Hospital by 5pm which he was and our son wasn't born until 10:29pm.

If a women called me up with this type of issue, it likely would suggest I had erred in pursuing the relationship. I don't mean to sound like a cold hearted bastard, my girl friend (freaking hate that word! someone needs to invent a word for "life commitment with out marriage") would never get so freaked out about something that I couldn't fix that she would demand I return home to.... to what? Nothing you could personally do to fix the situation, talking on the phone may help talk some stuff out any ways. Chances are that this wouldn't be a first time issue either but rather something that has been worked through before, etc. Some issues without a doubt I would pack up and head home ASAP. Death of a loved one, birth of a child, serious injury, hospital, etc. But interpersonal relationships that nothing can be done to fix by the man (in this case)? None sense. I learned long ago not to get involved with such drama. Just my take...

try like hell to never put myself in that situation!!

I have grown quite fond of the gf over the years, a lot in part to her understanding me.
in the past i have pissed off lot's of girls and even ended relationships over very similar scenarios.

Fact is, most guys wouldn't bust up a girls' night out because they were emotionally distraught and a woman would likely be rather unhappy about it happening. Certainly no need to maintain a double standard in this situation.

Ok the hole then will only have the power you as the man gives it so if you are feeling the P.O.T.H. then the only one to blame is yourself. Just my thing in relationship the happiness of both partners is very important sking is Kevins Thing I would never take it away from him its part of who he is and thats who I fell in love with all those years ago if I change him in that way what will I be left with and will I like it let alone love it if your are in any sort of partnership its a warts and all sort of thing sking not a big deal it make him happy if he's happy I'm happy and vice versa I'm giving him back his computer now nite guys.
Mrs Loafer
P.S if you are in a realtionship and the other person says she's happy but she like you to change{fill in the blank} run do not walk away she never will be happy.

BTW, I was thinking of using spouse instead of wife, but men don’t do things like that so I decided to keep it real.

A) Sales skills may pull you through on all accounts
B) Mess with the buttons on your cell phone so that she thinks you have crappy reception. If there is a land line there, snip a phone cord and put it in salty water, this will create line noise or a busy signal. This is a version of lying.
C) If you included a picture, this would be easier
D) Tell her you saw some PMS medicine in the cabinet and that may help.
E) A near-real answer: tell her this weekend away will make you so much stronger for dealing with these problems.
F) Remember: most jobs suck at times, it's normal to feel sick when the best skier in the house is gone, kids get in trouble, ceilings sometimes leak and will still leak next week, her sister's husband was a jerk and aging parents do that because life is a circle..
G) Another near-real answer: promise her a getaway weekend with her friends or with you (her choice) and then follow through with it.

Hope this helps. Next please.
