What do you talk about while skiing?

Okay fess up, does anyone laugh at people they can see from the lift?

I don't know about 'laugh' but I certainly comment on quite a few of them.

For me, it really depends on who I'm with. You talk about things where you have a common ground.

Sometimes I heckle people from the lift...seriously...random things I yell are..

"Alfonso hit the butter box"

"Hey Leroy, I'll meet you in the lodge in 5 minutes"

and my favorite

"Mary, you gave me Herpes"...LMBFAO

I laugh if someone has a good wipe out that looks like it didn't hurt or otherwise manages to put themselves into a humerus predicament. More likely though, I comment on good form when I see a great skier or rider sticking a really good line and making nice turns. Coming from an alpine skier perspective, more often than not this involves tele skiers. The great tele skiers really stick out far and above the crowd much more so than the average alpiner. Or perhaps there are just fewer tele'ers overall so the really good ones are fewer and further between. But the best tele skiers are really pretty to watch.

I'm really in no position to be laughing at anyone else's skiing. But I do watch others from the lift, and wipeouts (as long as no one is injured) can be interesting.

What do I talk about? Life, whatnot.... I don't know. Whatever my companions are interested in at the time.

The next line we're going to take or watching really graceful skiers ( Always looking to get better ).

But we also enjoy some wicked joke tellin' while ridin' and BTW grinnin' @ yard sales--- IF they are the non injury type

I can't be the only one who talks about skiing while, well, skiing.

The last run or the next run. Unless you are still glowing about a run from earlier in the day. What else is there when you are skiing?

+1. And what else is there when you aren't skiing? :)

I talk about and think about skiing while I am skiing.

I usually talk about skiing, mostly about skiing that day, conditions, crowds, where to take the next run, etc.. Sometimes, if I'm with another Azer (most of the time if I'm not skiing alone), we'll talk about some of the stupid crap that goes on, and the boneheads on this forum.

Sometimes I zone out though and don't talk about anything, I just pretend to listen to whatever banter my chair mate is going on about. Often it's just Greg obsessing about bumps anyway. :p

My pals and I got to laughing about this just yesterday. When we ski it seems all we talk about is golf. When we golf all we talk about is skiing. Why is it we seem to never be happy with what we are doing at the time. Could be just me/us or do others have the same twisted conversations on the slopes. Just wondering....not really....bored at work.
Not me!

I tend to talk about skiing while skiing, and biking when biking.

Even if there's nothing 'about' skiing to talk of, we can still talk about all the great skiing trips/days we've had. And the dream trips/mountains we'd like to hit, etc.

i dont know, usually the conditions, the last run, what run is next. etc.

All i do know is that i tend to drop an excessive amount of f-bombs while i'm skiing.

I particularly enjoy the debating the finer points of Hawking radiation, vacuum fluctations and virtual particle pairs.

Man, you have a dirty mind. What if there are kids on the chair with you?

I know this method!!!
Its when you mumble every once in a while and hopefully they won't notice.

Works good in other situations too. The only thing that sucks is using it at work and getting stuck with an assignment/project in which you know nothing about. ;)

GSS (Doug) Always busts out into a rap and I can vouch for his Hey Leroy comments...

He's great to ride a lift with (ski with too) always some great convo there to be had..

I check out the action below, look for people better then me that I might see something I could improve on, and look at those worse than me and be thankfull I'm better than that now.

I talk about everything, from ski trips, to conditions, to work, to funny shit my kids do, etc..

I normally am listening to my zune when I'm riding solo so that entertains me as well..

No offense, but if someone 'busted out into a rap' while riding the chair with me I'd probably push them off, seriously...
