Basic and Boring

Weekends get up and take the dogs for a walk about 6.15. Warm up the car around 6.50, stop for a coffee and Breakfast sandwich. park by 7.30 boot up and in the lift line by 7.50.

Mid week, With a 9 am opening, I may skip going out with the first rush by a few minutes. Plenty of runs to be had with less people.

I can't wait for basic and boring lol.

We do not have a set ritual. Boot bags are prepped the night before. Skis are always in my truck, boot bags, jackets, etc are indoors by the door ready to go, breakfast is on the run (typically a shake of some fashion or Subway breakfast sandwich), coffee in travel mug. While I load the stuff by the door into the truck, my wife packs snacks and beverages which generally includes Bloody Caesars and beer. Most often, around the time we are leaving, my wife is getting on my son's case about moving a little faster (was worse when all my other boys were home still). I always eat a banana about 15 minutes from the resort. At the ski area we go to the unloading area and bring everything up to the lodge and I park the truck which is usually parked into a snow bank fairly close to the lodge and is not necessarily a parking spot. I do because I can!

Typically, my wife is the first to be ready and will harass us until we ready to go. We drink the Bloody Caesar while getting ready.

I check the oven 3 times to make sure it's off, jump out of the car 5 times to check that I locked the house and circle the block 8 times to make sure I didn't hit someone while backing out of the driveway. Then I go back into the house to wash my hands 13 times and repeat as necessary.

That's a ritual for us all.
Count me in the "no special ritual" camp.

I do what's necessary: make sure all needed gear is with me, breakfast (while driving), ski.

I interpret "ritual" as standard/routine one does every time. So I have the "us all" kind of ritual. And nothing beyond that. Certainly nothing personal or unusual.

And if I failed to take along some gear, my day will still "feel right" as long as I can find/buy something to do the same function. Doesn't affect my day of skiing at all.

I don't really have any weird rituals, but I have a lucky pair of sweat pants I try and wear whenever I ride (as long as there clean). There really not so much lucky as just really really comfortable, but the walk from my truck to the lodge is cold so I put on snowpants at the house. If I've been to the liquor store lately, then I'll have a flask of menthol mcgillicuttys on my persons. And usually I have a winter hat under my helmet for the first run, after one run I decide to wear my mask. I always think I can man up without it and I always only last 1 run.
