Okay. Here's this season's version of this thread. Here's my list from last year:I only made it to Sunapee and the 90 minutes I skied there barely qualifies as a visit. So Burke and Cannon are still on the table for this season. By hook or by crook, I'm going to make it to Burke. I'm even considering just day tripping it. If I really haul, I can make it to White River Junction in 2:30. How much further is Burke (trailboss?) another 1:15, 1:30?
- Burke
- Cannon
- Sunapee
I really want to try to hit Gore this season too. That's really at the outer edge of a day-trippable mountain, but it's doable. I'd love to try Whiteface too; a possibility...
Here's my list:
Burke
Magic
Jay
Smuggs
Bolton
Cannon
Bromley
I've been to Jay and Cannon but it was many years ago. I would love to get the cook's tour of Burke from Riverc0il and Trailboss. It sounds like many people on this thread want to try Burke and get the locals' tour.
That sounds like the basis for an AZ outing at Burke. Anyone disagree?
I made it to Pico, but that was the only new place for me this year. Pico was great.
Next year more northern VT trips will be a priority. It looks like we will visit Seattle, so we will also try to hit some WA mountains. Has anyone been to Alpental, Crystal, or Mt. Baker?
[killer info on WA mountains]
Not major priorities on my list, but wouldn't mind hitting MRG or Whiteface.
With regards to Sugarbush, not much for beginners, but some nice runs for intermediates. Some of my favorite runs have been:
Jester/Snowball/Springfling
Lower Jester
Rim Run
All the intermediate runs off of North Lynx
My new mountains this year:
Stratton
Stowe
Pico
Next year, I'm looking into hopefully finally getting to Burke after years of trying (and after falling in love with the Snowdon Poma at K, I REALLY can't wait). Also might try Wildcat late season if the spring is good.
