I'd agree on Avalanche at Cannon and was surprised it took 15 posts before someone mentioned it. That one sticks in my head as the first intimidating "point and shoot" trail I tried to gun in my formative years.

Avalanche at Cannon was the one I first thought of. Wide, straight, steep with an endless runout.

You could easily set some speed records on Stowe's Hayride trail.

Upper Skyward to Niagara at Whiteface, bonus points if you go Lower Sky and carry all your speed off the headwall into the blind right hander.

I dont think Ive been as fast out here as I have been on a well groomed, early morning midweek day on Skyward.

Was that on Lower Warren's Way with a "Speed Trap" race?
That is where I have clocked 63 mph. I know I've gone a little faster than that but not by much.

Warrens Way doesn't sound right to me, but I'm not 100% on what trail it was, but I want to say it was Powderhorn or Upperdipper. I remember it being slightly close to the seasons pass holders locker area and the ski academy.
I do remember taking a T bar up- does Warrens Way have a T Bar?

Warrens Way has the Poma Lift (Surface Lift) and it is also where they do most of their Race training. It is also just above the Mid-Lodge.
Upper Dipper is also occasionally used for Super G training.

Groomed Outer Limits.

A top speed run needs to be first thing in the morning, so it's still well groomed and low traffic. OL's exposure gives you good light at 8AM, unlike Dipper or Lower O. It's a sustained high pitch, with the last couple hundred vert being lower pitch, giving you room to slow down.

But if you can hit 71mph on Cruise Control, methinks pretty much any groomer black diamond would suffice for pretty high speeds.

Tightine at Saddleback.. Wide and straight down the fall line. about 1000k of sustained vert.

White Heat at Sunday River when groomed. Had prime conditions to go fast last time on it but it was too dangerous to do so as it was very foggy.

Cannonball when it's good and iced up. Oh, you mean on your skis and in control? Picky picky. Isn't that what the big net at the bottom is for? :)

Avenger at Bear Peak is a good one, although the terrain is a little bit bumpy at high speed. A more surprising good one is Humphrey's Ledge-> Northwest Passage at Attitash. I had a buddy tuck straight down it from the lift to the flat-out near the netting and clock himself at 79 on his GPS. I've done it myself and have most likely broken the 70 mph threshold. Avenger done right must be faster, though, and it's flat-out after the pitch makes it fairly appealing.

While short-and-sweet, Black Hole at Sunday River can also be a good one, especially if you attack it with a head of steam.

Mineshaft at Mount Snow. Straight line from the last big kicker down.

Used to be called Sprung's Sprint back in the day.

For me it's Challenge and Razor's Edge at Blue Mountain. I don't know how fast but my helmet usually starts lifting off my head, if it wasn't for the chin strap it would probably come off.

sounds like you need a better fitting helmet.
