What trail / run in the Northeast could you reach the highest speeds on?

Wow, a lot of seriously fast skiers here. Fastest I've done may be down some short steeps where I know it shallows out soon. I can't bring myself to let er loose at the top of White heat, but a third from the bottom I can. Seriously, the fastest trail I get going on is something like Rogue Angel or Excalibur at the River. Long wide cruisers with decent pitch. Basically, I only let it go up to the point that I know I can bring it to a stop in very short order. I just don't see myself able to do so on White heat. . .

Same here. I can only let them run if I have some place to quickly gather them back up. At Sugarloaf that includes the last pitch on Haulback, Chicken Pitch (traffic permitting), sections of Kings Landing and Narrow Gauge.

They had the radar gun set up on lowers Warren's Way (training hill) at Burke today. The highest speeds that I heard while I was going up their new lift were mainly in the 50's with a couple in the low 60's.

This weekend I clocked 65.1 mph on avalanche. My 10 year was clocked by radar gun during a speed camp at 59 and 60 mph. Pretty scary for me to watch.

A offically closed trail for racing. I would never make a speed run on a trail open for the general public. If you partake in this activity, your one of the skiers that makes it dangerous for the rest of us.

You assume a lot about the ability of those that can hit 60+mph.

I hit 61mph yesterday on Timberline at Killington. A lot of it isn't even the steepest, longest, widest groomer, it's what trail is the fastest that you still feel comfortable in a full tuck on.

I'm gonna have to get on a groomer first thing in the morning at some point, I think Wildfire is next up. Full tuck, I get to the trail crossing mess before anyone else makes it down the mountain, only way to do a speed run on that trail.

There are very few places that I would try to reach my peak speed.It would always be where there is a runout because I'm going so fast I don't want to have to make a real quick and unexpected turn at 70+.That could get real ugly fast.Avalanche at Cannon is one of those trails for 3 reasons,a runout at the bottom,very wide,and the ability to see the whole thing laid out before you to decide if its a gne of my hairest runs was starting at the very top above the waterbar cutover after coming off of the Extension.Having been clocked by Franconia Police radar many moons ago on Avi,I have a very good idea of how fast I'm going.That time I hit 73 but this run had to be close to 80.Even in great light the visibility is just a shaking slighly blurred view.Pucker factor for sure.
