so many to choose from and its not even over yet. so far.... jeez.... i would have to give you a top three:

march 20 at jay
:
skied with austin all over the place at jay, it wasn't fresh powder but untracked could still be found. the conditions were not epic but the runs were and great company to boot. skied some incredible stuff that was new to me... the first time skiing great new lines always feels special.

december 10th at jay: broke my elbow, but man did i do it in style! early season dump with not much competition, great lines everywhere, light fluffy powder, hiking for turns, great company, etc. the type of early season powder day i live for and i will always remember it for its better aspects.

three way tie for third between hiking cannon october 26th, november 26th, and november 27th. epic early season dumps, powder all of them. i remember being so pumped up and excited for the season... this season was suppose to be "the big one" with me living in StJ, with a pass, so close to the ski areas, etc. despite the bad snow season and missing three months, i fondly remember the early season excitement and early season powder.

20 days so far and still counting!!! my best day may still be yet to come! :D

I was lucky enough to ski alot of great days this season:

Back bowls at Vail

Bumps and trees at Maryjane

East Wall at Abasin

Slides at Whiteface plus an epic weekend after a 2 foot dump there

All that said, the day that was the best was: I picked my daughter up very early in the morning at college in Plattsburg to bring her home for Christmas vacation, but first we skied at Whiteface. It was sunny and mid-week and a beautiful overall ski day in December. We use to ski together all the time, but now that she's older and away at college we don't get to do it as much.

It was just great skiing and talking together for the whole day. Just her and I like when she was younger.

They grow up quick gang, ski with them as much as you can when they're young. That way you'll have no regrets when you're an old feller like me.

I have a lot of good days this year:

Best: 2 feet of new snow at Smuggs on 3/19, some drifts Chest deep. Excellent woods that day.

2nd best: 8" falling on 1/23 at Waterville. True Grit was True Powder after it was True Ice the day before.

Wawa: Tie between 1/3 and 3/1 (no, I did not just look in a mirror...)

Killington: Epic Bear on 4/2

MRG: Just being there was awesome

March 2nd at Sunapee. My first year skiing, best day for me. Saw others who posted trip reports for that day calling the snow there "hero snow". Whatever it was, it was awesome. Not too crowded, about 25 degrees, some sun -- great stuff. Can't wait for next year.

*Powder day on 3/7 @ Solitude after 13"

Ill have to ditto that, except mine was march 15th. The steeps above the powderhorn chair were great with knee deep

Second favorite was ridding with my 2 brothers and high school friend at Stratton the week after xmas. It was great snow, warm condition, some nice jump, and it was only 10 dollars.

For me it was my last day of this season, 19 March, at Sunapee:
  • No crowds
  • Nice conditions
  • Finally got my daughter to come to the summit instead of playing around in the beginner area
Yea, going down a challenging trail is fun, but being able to share a long cruising run with the family is priceless.

(Although I've had some pretty good days since then, too; all of last week was great, with bluebird conditions and the snowpack holding up surprisingly well until the dewpoint went through the roof and the rains came on Saturday. And I'm hoping to get to Stowe either tomorrow or Thursday and again on Saturday, which is rather promising given the ongoing snowstorm.)

March 27 at Snowbird. A blue bird day, 14 inches of new. Mineral Basin was closed the day before so it was all untracked. Skied in a blizzard the day before and after, so we where lucky. My first time at Vail in Feb with 8 new was also great.

Hell, any day i skied this year was a great day!!! Like they say...a bad day of skiing is still better than a good day at work
Except when you end the day with one arm 2 inches longer than the other one.OY.

Jay Peak on March 4th. They got 30", with high winds which closed the lifts so my buds and I hiked from the top of boneventure quad to the flyer and then skied a almost untouched beaver pond. We also hiked to the summit and did tuckermans chute. All in all the best skiing day of my life, never mind the year.
