copy-paste from a ragged employee posting at snowjournal. ignore his bad english. in italics is a post from someone on sj which ragged employee replied to.

Looking at their trailmap, they have everything open which is lift serviced, except for the trails that go over the backside of the mtn (shouldn't even be on the trailmap) and the trails which dump out onto easy winder. IMO, easy winder was a mistake. It's way too flat in some places, and will cripple any terrain in the Big Rock Basin unless a new lift is put in.

Once they get spear opened, they'll be close to 100%. One opinion is that the management is just using this season to get their feet under them and is hoping to break even. They're not pushing snowmaking or anything until they know for sure how their system works and are confident in it. Personally I wish them good luck and will be there during February vacation.

t hat's 100% straight shooting. nice to see an emp checking in with specifics most areas hide. hats off to them.

Some times back, when the prev owners operated it, they would schedule any type of race event for the weekend. The six pack does a good job of dissapating the crowds. If you stay in the ravine, you will avoid the crowds. The blue glade (raggea) off the triple is ok.

Oh yeah, if your son is old enuf go on the single line and meet up at top, it's rare that they get six in a group.

We never used to have a weekend line when I skied there from about 1994 to 2001 when my kids were just starting. We never had race program problems - that as a recent issue. I would think with such a bad year last year, people went elsewhere and won't hurry back. Chances are good you'll have a line-free weekend.

From my experience, you can cut even further skiers left... The trail map is not accurate for those glades.

I think you may be right. This is a pretty short hike for a potentially big reward.

Go take a look at google earth...looks like it should barely even require much uphill.
