Here is one from Cannon yesterday. Perhaps the best day of my 07-08 season to date. I will need to further review my report achieves to determine. Given that any days in December or November that might have had better powder or equally deep (unlikely on the latter), I still think I will give the nod to Saturday as best of the season due to the combination of powder and terrain. No place I would rather be when all options are open and there is knee deep in the woods.

I did not get any pictures (too busy with the boot to knee deep untracked), but salida did in his report over on FTO. My experiences very much reflect the skiing captured so well in his photos.

I was at Cannon Saturday too, well sort of. Skinned up Mittersill at 8am in the storm. Got to the top to find a steady stream of people coming over from Cannon. Skied partway down Tucker Brook trail which was great. Knee deep mogul pillows all the way down. Skinned back up Tucker Brook and as I neared the top 3 guys came down. I asked if they had a car at the bottom of Tucker Brook and if I could join them and bum a ride back. They explained they were not going to the bottom of Tucker Brook, but were skiing some super secret stash that led back to Mittersill! I asked if I could tag along. They said ok and we proceeded to ski one of the best tree runs I have ever been down in the east coast. It was beautifully spaced out trees with over the knees powder all the way down. SAHWEET!!!!! The only bad part was I could not go back up and do it again as I had to get home. GREAT day.

Here's a secondhand report: a friend was at Loon and said it was the best it's been in several years. I think everyone was happy this weekend.

Those sound like my ski buddies. These things are meant to be hush hush you know. Was there either a Roger,Cat,Gary in that group? They have some great secret stashes they have been working on for many years.Did it come out at a Mittersill home or were you able to ski back to Cannon?
