Many ski areas in the east traditionally try to open the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Actually many ski areas in the east try to open the Friday after Thanksgiving but that day is already taken as Black Friday.

In thinking about this, how about the idea of calling the first Saturday after Thanksgiving as White Saturday to mark the first day of the ski season.

Well seeing some ski areas have been open since oct and many since mid November I say no

Good point. Kind of like stores that put up Christmas tree decorations in October.

How about if White Saturday was half price lift ticket price deductions for the day or maybe even a reduced price season pass sale.
