This isn't going to be a typical opening weekend.

Far more players and more days in a row of GOOD snowmaking weather than what we typically get for an opening weekend.

A few will open as quickly as they can, most hold off until Friday/Saturday which should net them more acres covered.

Getting snowmaking temps for an opening push in on a Sunday afternoon/evening and then having them stick around all week, over a big chunk of ski country, is far from what the East usually experiences for an opening weekend

Also late in the start for some places as well. So there is a log jam of places opening.

Guessing: sunday river, sugarloaf, loon, Killington, wildcat, stowe, sugarbush, bretton woods for opening weekend. Many with more than the typical WROD, should be plenty of acres to spread people out.

Mount Snow and Okemo are almost certainly on the list of available options for this weekend. Probably going to also have a few options in NY and MA as well based on the size of some of the whales that are showing up on various mountain web cams in the sunlight this morning

Mount Snow still has their upper mountain air/water guns on as of 3:40 based on their webcams. Wind looks to have shifted to a generally Southerly direction base on which way some of the plumes are now heading on Cascade. Guessing that the crews shut things down shortly until after the storm pulls away.

Also looks like there hasn't been much wind during this 36hr or so run, so the production did a nice job at piling up into some decent sized whales rather than being swept into the adjacent trees by the wind

What do you think the options will be by Thanksgiving weekend, Cascade>Canyon/Snowdance or some more?

Well since they've started making snow on Freefall and River Run as well as the Gulch over in Carinthia, I would say that those should be available if the forecast plays out as favorable as it seems like it might now.

Also, the new Sundance Express lift is supposed to be certified and ready to carry folks up the hill "by Thanksgiving" is the word on the street, and from folks who likely are pretty reliable with their info, so if the cold holds, I wouldn't be shocked to see Ridge or the newly lined with snowguns Hop in the mix for Thanksgiving. Again as we all know, the forecast a week out can go from favorable to not, so there is obviously plenty of variability in things over the next week plus

Shawnee in PA making anow and announced opening 11/25. Probably start my skison there with my IndyPaas. Low key turns a short drive away for day 1 beats driving far for still quite limited terrain.

I see that. the earliest I was expecting was 11/23. You can't buy tickets at Mt snow either until 11/25. might have to burn an ikon on the 23rd at K if more than North Ridge open.
May be conspiratorial thinking but could be that they want opening weekend to be on blackout days to lessen the inevitable shitshow.
