HA! I meant that I play 0 - 3 times per year. I had one good summer when I waited tables up at Cape Cod. I would play 3 or 4 times per week. I was playing par/bogey golf. These days I'm playing bogey/double bogey golf.

LOL, yeah I misread your post ;)

Good luck with the upcoming baby!!!

im just curious who here has made an eagle, a legit one not 2 shots from the fairway when nobody is playing behind you.. I had 2 putts at it the other day, 1 from 35 feet and left is 2 inches short or it would have went in, and the other well it was 70feet so no chance, anyway ive had probably 15 putts at it in 8hrs and have lipped out a few but never made one.

An eagle? Never had a putt at it, I'm just not long enough (though I've been hitting some good drives of 240-250 lately, so hopefully soon). Did have a nice hole-in-one a few years ago ;)

Had a lot of puts at eagles but never made one. My playing partner made an eagle once.
I do have one hole in one.

I dont hit it long either. I would say 240 to 250. When I am grooving 260 but that for about a week and it goes back down.

dont you love the guys that talk about hitting the ball 300 yards all the time. I just laugh when people tell me that cause there aren't to many people that can do it.
Now I want to get out and hit the ball around.

IM up there, 280-295, hey i had a 441 yd drive in Co down a hill, had 59 yards after to a par 5 and still got a bogey. If i get it, i hit it 305 on a flat sea level fairway, but that happens 1 out of 5 times id say.

I can hit it three hundred yards.....across a pariking lot.

That said i don't loose to many balls. My biggest pet peeve is loosing ball. Hitting three from the tee sucks

Well if i hit 3 balls 280+ id say 1 is in the fairway, 1 is in the rough 20yds from the fairway and the other one might not be findable, but its still alot more fun than laying up lol

played wintonberry up there that was about it.. Everyone to a man says Lake of Isles at foxwoods is better than any course in the state however.

You owe it to yourself to treat yourself to Lake of The Isles atleast once! Easily the best course in CT (better than TPC, Great River, Richter Park, Fox Hopyard, you name it). Just like everything the Mashantuckets do, its first rate from the moment you drive in! Played there this past Monday in a tournament and the course is in perfect condition with the tees in as good (if not better) than the greens of many courses in CT.

I'm kind of curious to see what the Mohegans are going to do with Pautipag CC now that they bought it. While it doesn't have the land to work with that the Foxwoods folks had to work with at Lake of the Isles, its a solid, old style Geoffrey Cornish designed track that with a bit of $$ thrown its way (and we all know that the Mohegans have some cash) could be a mighty fine course. Won't reach Lake of The isles stature though, that just plain an simpple falls into the "really special" course category!

Ya i need to get down there and check it out, you know that means Mohegan will do something like that in the near future.. I hear the public course at foxwoods is even better than their private one.. Its 165 to play, however if u go from mon-fri i believe its 205 for your greens fees and a room, now thats a good deal if u dont lose any money gambling

What would make a really, really nice golf course would be if the Mohegans could somehow get their hands on the old Norwich Hospital (where the proposed Utopia studios was going to go)across the river from Mohegan Sun and use those few hundred riverside acres. You know that they's have to try and out do Lake of The Isles, and as golfers, we'd win!

Utopia, was that the Great Adventure type place i kept hearing about whatever happened to that idea anyway? Ya Mohegan im sure will follow their footsteps, they have with everything else, and seem to do it better afterwards, i prefer Mohegan as a Casino over Foxwoods, and i would have to say a majority of people feel that way as well for whatever reason

Essentially the town of Preston (which is where the majority of the land is in - its roughly split 80/20 land wise between Preston and Norwich) gave the proposed developer, Joesph Gentile a list of basic background studies for the site/site clean-up(some contaminated soil on site) that had to be compltede by a set date (I believe it was somewhere around Valentines day). The Utopia folks had essentially 90% of that list complete by the day and that failure to complete cobined with a failure to deposit a few million buck into an escrow account led Preston to back out of the talks with Utopia as the primary developer and re-open the development rights to the property to new groups(Utopia had an exclusive development rights clause prior to this). Essentially its in legal limbo right now with Preston getting new development proposals and Utopia taking the issue to court. Generally a mixed feeling of the population of the area between wanting Utopia and wanting something else.

My take is, get Utopia in, afterall that property lies inbetween Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun and throw in Mystic Seaport/Mystic Aquarium and its not like a major part of the economy of SE CT isn't tourism based already. As much as that type of ecomony has some drawbacks, the $$ that it brings into the state in the form of people coming to the area is a HUGE amount and to try and expand off of this to bolster the already established tourism in the area would be good, especially given the somewhat uncertain future of Electric Boat as a major employer in SE CT both now and in the coming years.

If they really wanted to have some serious "wow" development, they should make an attempt to get the newly federally recognized Mashpee Indians from Cape Cod to try and build their soon to be devloped casino not in Northboro/Middleboro, MA (not too far outside Worcester), but get them to do it on that property. 3 casinos in that close proximity with the already high development standards that Foxwoods and Mohegan have established would be some site!

You got some good ideas, you would be a scary person if you had the money lol
