How many skiers do you think they had?/ the amount of money spent. I dont think they made money.

On Sunday I'm guessing several hundred passholders and several hundred people who bought tickets for $65..I don't know if their cafeteria was open and rentals and stuff like that since I didn't go into the lodge..

Here are some shots from today. The cover is still quite good and there's no telling how long it will last. If it freezes overnight and they don't get fog & downpours, it might still be skiable for several more days.

I took shots of the worst spots.

Today's Conditions Report:

Tuesday, November 04, 2008Spring skiing in November? We're offering it for two more days! Enjoy top-to-bottom skiing on more than 1,700 vertical feet of terrain Wednesday and Thursday at Killington.

The K-1 Gondola will provide access to the Northridge area as Great Northern/Chute/Lower Bunny Buster trails provide access back to the base of K-1. Skiers and riders are encouraged to enjoy the Northridge area and only ski back to the base for lunch and at the end of the day. No beginner terrain is available! The early season terrain park on Reason is open with four features.

We are committed to providing our guests with a quality top-to-bottom skiing and riding experience as weather and snow conditions permit. Based upon the current weather forecast, we anticipate snowmaking temperatures will return Sunday evening and we'll re-open as soon as quality conditions permit. Check back often for daily operational updates.

Well, the opening has seemed to turn many of the Powdr haters to Powdr lovers over at kzone. That's gotta be worth something. :D

Bunch of fair weather fans those POWDR haters.

Same bunch that crucified them last season before they had a chance to do anything.

I think POWDR has done a good job with K.

I would say you belong to a very small club, one that, judging by their actions, doesn't even include Powdr. I still want to know when they're going to buy that second vowel

First off, congrats to Sunday River for re-opening for the weekend!
We'll have our snowmaking crew report to work on Sunday afternoon and gear up for potentially firing up the system late Sunday night into Monday morning. Monday and Tuesday nights we'll see temps drop into the teens so we're looking to get some solid production in the Northridge and upper mountain areas.
Looking ahead, the weather forecast is somewhat all over the place. While it looks like we will have the opportunity for snowmaking production Wednesday and Thursday nights, it seems somewhat limited based upon the current forecast. But, we'll see how it shakes out.
Like all of you, I'm stoked to get back on the boards, especially after seeing the photos sent by all my friends in Utah!
One last thing. When we do get going again it will be for the rest of the season. So we're looking for that sustained cold snap to really cover the mountain so that if we do see another warm up, we'll be able to sustain operations.
