First off, congrats to Sunday River for re-opening for the weekend!
We'll have our snowmaking crew report to work on Sunday afternoon and gear up for potentially firing up the system late Sunday night into Monday morning. Monday and Tuesday nights we'll see temps drop into the teens so we're looking to get some solid production in the Northridge and upper mountain areas.
Looking ahead, the weather forecast is somewhat all over the place. While it looks like we will have the opportunity for snowmaking production Wednesday and Thursday nights, it seems somewhat limited based upon the current forecast. But, we'll see how it shakes out.
Like all of you, I'm stoked to get back on the boards, especially after seeing the photos sent by all my friends in Utah!
One last thing. When we do get going again it will be for the rest of the season. So we're looking for that sustained cold snap to really cover the mountain so that if we do see another warm up, we'll be able to sustain operations.

is the mountain going to be open next weekend or is there no definite reopening date?

It totally depends on the temperatures..if things trend warm it's going to be tough and if things trend cooler they could have more terrain open than last weekend which would be MSY

The mighty guns of Big K are gonna blast once again. Sunday River has suspended midweek operations once again. So, the race to open and stay open is still on!

Mother Nature really has been a bear this early season. The staff at SR did their best to give her the finger, but I think they made a good call to close after today. (They expected period of light rain over the past three days, but got many many hours of constant down pours, including Thursday and Last night) The T2 itself was in good shape thanks to grooming, but the loading and unloading ramps needed constant care and they had guys get snow from everywhere possible. It was a great effort and I'm thankful for the past three days of skiing. Now let's get cold again 'cause this is silly!

Patrol and Lifties did alot to make sure we could turn. One guy who is in transportation was up helping shovel snow and then walked down with a trash bag and picked up garbage on the way down, The mountain could have easily just called if off, but we has some fun. Closing down made sense. I have 6 days in. Pretty nice that the extra effort allowed me to get out as well as others. Jerry was insane.
