worth it to go skiing tomorrow?

I'm really tempted to take tomorrow off and go skiing up in NH. With the storm and all, I got a hankering to get out there for my first day.

I was thinking Bretton Woods or Cannon, given they are the "closest" to me and have the best chance of getting the most snow in the area.

Anybody else in the Boston area interested? I got a AWD saabaru and I'll go by myself if necessary...

My only issue is that it has to be worth the effort of getting up early, driving a lot, and missing a days work... If you have any info about the storm totals up there it would be helpful...

IMHO, skiing any day is worth it. What's the saying... a bad day of skiing is still better than a good day at work?

Do not pass go..do not collect 200 dollars..go directly to Stowe which is reporting 12-14 inches so far and it will be dumping there right through tomorrow..

You'll see similar totals between from Smuggler's Notch to Killington and everything in between, with more on the way, so pick your favorite place and have a great time.

I just got back from Sugarbush, we were in the woods all day tons of natural snow. Knee deep powder most of the day. The snow was so heavy at times our tracks were filling in each run. I would say 14+ inches at the summit. It was EPIC!

The snow report says that they got about 10-12 inches.

They had a lot of closed terrain. I think that even if they get a bit more - up to 14 storm total or so, the stuff that was previously closed will be scratchy after a few runs - bring your rock skis.
For your sake I hope I'm wrong.

My wife says, don't go to cannon if there's not a diamond open, and it doesn't look like it right now so I'm thinking Bretton Woods.

Any thoughts on loon? My coworker has a coupon, but I haven't been there for like 10 years.

Dude, have your boots on the GO line at first chair and tell me untracked pow on the front five for the first two or three runs until it gets tracked up is not going to be worth it. Jeez, don't think about it, get emotional about a foot of untracked!

I'd go to Sunday River. 46 trails and 7 lifts for tomorrow. The skiing there last weekend was awesome and with this fresh snow it will be better.

Though it is not huge, Sunapee should be nice tomorrow-it was today. I'll bet you'll get on the mountain for $35. It's about 45 min from Concord, NH.

Yeah, a foot of untracked on top of a decent base IS something to get emotional about.
A foot of untracked on top of frozen grass and rocks? Be sure to stock up on p-tex and pray not to blow out an edge.

I'd pick Sunapee or Loon - they have been laying down some good, old fashion, high water content man made.

I'll take a foot of untracked on top of frozen grass rather than groomers any day. NoVT has two feet of base right now if you are concerned about your bases....
