No I'm good, but lets get back to the actress thing. You never told me that, come on I gotta know. If you don't want to spill the beans in front of the whole gang PM me.

I hope she was/is a porn star. ;-)

Lucky, but not quite that lucky.

Never...and hopefully it never happens..The year after I finished college and I didn't know what I was doing with my life...was the only year I skied under 50 days in the past dozen years because I didn't have a season pass..I think I skied about 20 days and that felt like a year without no skiing since it takes me about 10 days just to get into the season..

Here's my last 5 seasons:

'02-03 - 45 days - my last "kidless" season

'03-04 - 3 days - Kid #1 born early January

'04-05 - 40 days - Kid 1 in mtn daycare

'05-06 - 4 days - Kid #2 born late December, kid #1 gets 4 days with Dad on the hill at Killington in late march

'06-07 - 39 days - Kid #1 in ski school/daycare, Kid #2 in mtn daycare

While I've never fully taken a season off, the new kid arrivals definately cut down on the days those years..

Note to self...don't have kids or if I have them..have them in the summer...lol

It's funny 'cause it's true.

Kid #1 in February 2006 (that and living a 5 hour drive from a ski hill) meant no skiing that year. I didn't even realize it until some time in July (after finally getting a full night's sleep), when I noticed the boots in the garage were a tad dusty.

I made it to the slopes this past season on a pair of rental skis and had a good, long laugh when I looked at the tail end of the skis and saw the pair's name: "Sweet Daddy".

Hate to burst your bubble but having kids in the summer won't necessarily permit you to still ski the following winter. It's possible, depending on the temperment of your spouse, but it's not a slam dunk.

Kid #1- January 2003. Kid #2: January 2006. I guess I'm most fertile in April... Still logged ~15 days in 2003-04 and 20+ in 2005-06. I got in 35 last year and started my 4 year old skiing. My wife is patient. When our second was born, I negotiated my night skiing sessions where I promised to do feedings the rest of the night after I got back so she could sleep. It's all about balance and compromise.

Living near a hill really helps. I'd have had only 2-3 days last year if it wasn't for night skiing at Wachusett. We had our 2nd last September, so my wife was very good about letting me out one night a week. My 3yr old was also an excuse to go so I could start her skiing last year.

Didn't realize you had kids so close in age to mine. Does your wife ski at all?

Yup and their birthdays are only 3 days apart. Sept 25th for my son (1yr) and 28th for my daughter (4yrs).

My wife has skied some and is a low intermediate. She hasn't gone since we started having kids. I don't think she plans on going this year or wants to. I'm going to try to ease her back into it next season.

How ironic. My daughters' birthdays are exactly one week apart - also a three year span between them. My wife is a recreational skier too; solid intermediate, and only missed the seasons she was pregnant. I think once the girls start to go a lot, she'll get into it more.

I'm hoping that's the case here! Get the kids hooked and she won't have a choice.
I've got my daughter talking about skiing all the time. She made me play the Meatheads trailer 3 times in a row for her the other day (and we only stopped because I got tired of it).
