I don't really like having 1 or 2 drinks anyway and no interest in drunk riding/skiing

Based on how I skied that day, I may as well have been drunk...

Uh, yeah there is.........6:30AM beers:spin:

Good call..next year on Gaper Day/closing day..I'm drinking on the drive up..nothing goes better with a sausage egg and Steeze McMuffin..Closing day at Blue I was a responsible drinker..I quit drinking around Noon to give me a chance to sober up for the drive home. Well actually I ran out of beer..lol

I'd love to ski on mushrooms sometime..but I haven't seen any around in quite some time..

Other than a little smoke and a few nips from the flask, I enjoy skiing straight, for the most part. It's a great high, that's one of the reasons I do it. Drinking a lotta beer bloats me and puts me in snooze mode.

This past ski season I was offered shots of Southern Comfort no less than three times along with medical-weed from a 60-something year old from California on the gangola at Jackson Hole.....of course I told him.."I pass on grass"..even my gullible dog doesn't believe that..lol

I dont drink much at all, and never really in public. When I do drink it is at home or a friends, and I go to town. I just dont want to drink and ski/drive at all. So I dont go to bars. Plus 1 or 2 bar beers will buy a ton more store bought beers.

I have played with a breathalyser before, and 3 coronas in 3 minutes never put me over the legal limit. That shocked me.

I want to get my own breathalyser. One thing is that if you were to pound three beers..you would be drunker in 30 minutes than in 5 minutes because it takes your body time to absorb the alchohal. At over 200 pounds..I know I would need at least 4 beers if not 5 beers to get to .08 in an hour and I don't drink that fast. Two Thanksgivings ago..I was stopped at a Sobriety checkpoint in Rutland. I had two whiskey cokes with a burger in an hour..I blew a .026...so in theory I could have had 5-6 whisky cokes and been fine but with mixed drinks you never know exactly how much booze is poured in. It can be anywhere from a measured shot to 3 shots. One thing is for sure..I'm really careful about drinking and driving..alot of my friends have had DUIs and they're very expensive and if you get two DUIs in PA..you go to jail..and I'm not cut out for jail..

I kept checking every 5 mins from when I drank them to about a hour later. Never passed .06, but I felt pretty drunk for a little bit.

........you go to jail..and I'm not cut out for jail..

Would Bubba make you his friend?

I think in PA they mandate those ignition breathtesters for repeat offenders. My ski bud is suspended for his 3rd offense and has to get one of those installed. Having to blow your car to get home is so humiliating........so far he's racked up $20,000 in fines, fees, costs, atty fees, driving class, 30 days in rehab in lieu of jailtime, it never f'in ends. It ain't worth it.

I personally don't think even those penalties are enough of a punishment for DUI. Plus, if someone has a fair amount of money, those penalties aren't all that bad. I think jail time needs to happen from the first offense. 7 days, right off the bat with a six month license suspension.

Just recently a 38 year old woman here in Maine got her 3rd DUI. Only problem? It was too late. She was going the wrong way down Interstate 95 late at night and rammed into a limosine killing the 60 year old driver and the 15 year old passenger.

Tragic for the families of those whose lives were lost and tragic for the women's children who will have to live a long long time with their mother behind bars.
